For the first time since his April loss to Paul Williams, St. Pete’s Winky Wright will step back into the ring.
On Dec. 11 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Wright (51-5-1, 25 KOs) will face Grady “Bad Boy” Brewer (26-11, 15 KOs) in the main event of the card titled “Back to Business.”
The event is a joint promotion between Winky Wright Promotions and Knockout Entertainment, Inc. Brewer, a two-time light middleweight champ, is the winner of Season 2 of The Contender.
“Puerto Rico is great place to have this fight as it is deep in boxing history and tradition with the Puerto Rican people embracing the sport like very few places around the world,” Wright said in a release announcing the fight. “Tito (Trinidad) and I have become great friends and each time I come to visit I have been ingratiated by the fans whom love and appreciate boxing so much. It will be an honor for me to fight in front of them on December 11.”
The undercard will feature Alex “el Nene” Sanchez, Eliezer Gonzalez (6-0, 3 KOs), Juan Carlos Velasquez (9-1, 5 KOs) and Carlos Ivan Velasquez (11-0-1, 9 KOs).
The fight, which will be held at Coliseo de Puerto Rico, will air live on pay-per-view for $29.95. Tickets for the fight can be purchased at http://www.ticketpop.com.
