It would be great if everyone had the opportunity to sit in Billy Turner’s office and listen to him tell stories.
Not many people tell a story like Billy turner and not many coaches have been in the trenches long enough like Turner to have collected a multitude of great stories.
As Turner attempts to lay claim to an accomplishment no other coach in the history of Hillsborough County football can lay claim to - win his 250th game - the Tampa Tribune and TBO.com will offer up some of the other county coaches favorite Turner stories.
First up is Jefferson coach Mike Fenton, whose Dragons team plays Chamberlain Thursday night.
“We coached together one year in one of the All-Star games, and that was a lot of fun,” Fenton said. “We kind of put our wits together and put in a lot of gadget plays and we really had a lot of fun with that. I wish him the very best because he’s been around for a long, long time. I do wish him the very best, but I sure don’t want to be the one that helps him get 250.”
