Plant senior hitter/setter Ariel Ley has committed to Davidson, coach Leanna Taylor said.
Although she starts as an opposite hitter for Plant, Ley will be a setter at Davidson.
“She’s a great setter,” Taylor said.
In fact, if junior setter Becca Howard hadn’t transferred from Berkeley Prep to Plant during the summer, Taylor said Ley would have been the team’s starting setter.
So far this season, Ley has 81 kills, 13 aces, 20 blocks, 57 assists and 62 digs. She is the second player from Plant to commit to Davidson in two years. In 2006, outside hitter Jennifer Chamblee decided to play for the Wildcats.
