Sara Lucia, the defensive catalyst for the Class 1A state champion Bayshore Christian team last year, has moved to North Carolina, coach Melanie Humenansky said.
Lucia led the team with 431 digs as a junior and was an emerging star at Bayshore. Humenansky also said Lucia will be home schooled and will not play for a varsity team, but will try to continue on a AAU club.
Humenansky said she’s confident a younger player will step into the role.
