ARLINGTON, Texas—B.J. Upton did a triple take when he walked into the clubhouse, reeling around to make sure he had read the lineup card correctly.
Yeah, he’s in there, and he’s batting leadoff for the fourth time this season as Akinori Iwamura gets a well-deserved day off. Ben Zobrist continues his super-utility ways by stepping in at second base for his second start there this year, and Jason Bartlett is back in there at short after there were some questions last night about whether he’d be able to go.
The Rays will look to avoid dropping their first series since the All-Star break (7-0-1) with Scott Kazmir on the mound against spot starter Dustin Nippert. Here’s how they’ll run ‘em down:
