Forum: Talk Rays
|
Nothing much happening at the Trop this afternoon, except:
* Word that Manny Ramirez shoved Boston’s traveling secretary Saturday in Houston.
* Red Sox and MLB security descending upon St. Pete to deal with a threat, as reported by the Boston Herald.
* Joe Maddon and Terry Francona anticipating a pregame meeting with the umpiring crew in which they will be told no funny business will be tolerated.
“I expect to go to the principal’s office before the game today, absolutely,” said Maddon.
“I don’t know who the umpires are but it wouldn’t surprise me,” said Francona. “This was a pretty well-publicized event. That usually, in itself, has Major League Baseball talking to us, which I understand.”
* Evan Longoria being named AL Player of the Week after hitting .433 with five doubles, three homers and 10 RBIs last week.
* Rocco Baldelli set to sit down with Rays officials to plot out the next step in his rehab process.
* Cliff Floyd flying in just before game time to rejoin the team after attending funeral services for his grandmother in Chicago.
