Forum: Talk Rays
|
Have seen quite a few brooms already here at the Trop as the Rays look to complete their second series sweep of the Red Sox this season and keep the home team unbeaten when these two get together.
Mitch Talbot is here, with understandably wide eyes, and will be used in mop-up and long-relief type situations.
Troy Percival, when we talked to him around 6 p.m., had already undergone “three hours of crap”—or, treatment—as he begins the rehab process. He said the tear revealed by the MRI on his left hamstring (remember, anything described as a “strain” is by definition a tear) is in a different spot than the previous one, higher on his leg. He’ll just keep on with the treatment and see where he is coming out of the All-Star break.
By the way, here’s Joe Maddon’s quote on how the bullpen now lines up, starting with Talbot:
“He’s Jason Hammel of a couple days ago. Hammel’s Glover, Glover’s now Balfour, Balfour is now Wheeler/Percy and Wheeler is Wheeler/Percy, Miller’s still Miller and Howell is Howell.”
Here are the lineups:
