Annie Tarte of the Florida Fire softball organization and Bloomingdale Little League has earned a place in the under-12 division at the 2009 Aquafina Hit, Pitch and Run skills competition to be held during the 2009 Major League Baseball All-Star game in St. Louis next month.
Tarte earned her berth after winning a local competition at Bloomingdale LL, and a super-regional event in Orlando. Her score in Orlando was one of the top three in the nation, giving her a berth in St. Louis.
Tarte follows in the footsteps of fellow Florida Fire player Raelynn Nichols, who competed in the under-14 event at last year’s All-Star game at Yankee Stadium.
