Citrus Park Little League is hosting the Little League Big League Softball State of Florida Championship this weekend at Citrus Park, located at 7506 Gunn Hwy in Tampa.

There are only three teams in the tournament, but the winner will represent Florida in next week’s regional tournament in Dunedin.

The Citrus Park All-Star Team, which includes former Gaither senior pitcher Morgan Grove (photo) and former Sickles senior and Troy-bound pitcher Khrystyne Ely, will play the winner of tonight’s District 5 (Pinellas County) vs. District 7 (Palm Beach County) game Saturday at 10 a.m. On Sunday, the winner of the Saturday’s game will play the winner of the loser’s bracket at 10 a.m.

Game schedule is:
Friday: 6:00 PM Friday (tonight): District 5 (Pinellas County) versus District 7 (Palm Beach County)
Saturday: 10:00 AM, Winner of Dist. 5/7 versus Citrus Park.; 1:00 PM, Loser of Friday and Saturday morning’s games.
Sunday: 10:00 AM, 5/7 vs. Citrus Park winner vs. loser’s bracket winner. Note: If loser’s bracket wins, final game will be played at 1:00 PM.
