King softball coach Jessica Rice announced on Wednesday senior shortstop/catcher Kirstin Austin has verbally committed to Florida Atlantic University. A three-year starter for the Lions, Rice said Austin holds several school records and is expected to play outfield for the Owls.
As a junior, Austin held a .586 batting average with 34 hits, 28 runs and nine RBIs.
Rice said Austin is an International Baccalaureate candidate at King and expects to study exercise science at FAU.
