Sickles senior baseball players Gregg Cooke and Josh Dunn have made verbal commitments to play Division I college baseball, according to Gryphons coach Bob Pagano.
Cooke, a right-handed pitcher, has committed to UCF, while Dunn, an infielder, has verbally committed to Florida Gulf Coast.
Cooke went 6-2 as a junior for the Gryphons, posting a 2.91 ERA with 59 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched. Cooke also pitched five complete games, which included two no-hitters, against Mitchell and Countryside.
Cooke also is a standout swimmer for the Gryphons, and last season won the Class 3A state title in the 50 free.
Dunn hit .414 with three doubles, a home run and 19 RBI as a junior. As a sophomore, Dunn hit .333.
Both players are expected to sign with their respective schools during the early signing period in November.
