Sickles boys and girls teams took top honors in the 35th annual City Relays at the Bobby Hicks Pool in Tampa.
The Gryphons’ boys team finished four points ahead of Newsome’s boys team, which placed second. Sickles’ girls were 18 points better than the Newsome’s girls team. The Wolves boys and girls teams won the event last year. The Jesuit boys team placed third, while Plant’s girls team were third.
Sickles boys won the 400 yard medley, 400 freestyle and 200 freestyle relays. Newsome boys won the 200 medley and 500 yard freestyle crescendo relays.
The Gryphons’ girls team placed first in the 400 free, 400 medley mixed and 200 free mixed relays. Newsome’s girls were first in the 200 medley relay and second in the 400 medley, 200 breaststroke mixed, 400 free, 400 medley mixed and 500 free crescendo relays. Wharton’s girls team finished first in the 200 butterfly mixed and 400 medley relays, while Plant girls topped the 500 free crescendo and 200 free relays. Freedom girls won the 200 breaststroke mixed relay.
