A serious accident, reportedly fatal, occurred overnight at the intersection of US-301 and Ranch Road in Thonotosassa, Hillsborough County.  Florida Highway Patrol have not released the details of this crash but remain on-scene investigating at this hour. 

As a result of this accident, all lanes of US-301, with the exception of the northbound shoulder, are closed to traffic at Ranch Road. 

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.  Parallel alternates for US-301 included Morris Bridge Road to the west and Paul Buchman Highway to the east.
