Powell Road Closed in Brooksville
Powell Road is closed in both directions at California Road in Brooksville, Hernando County. Around 5:50 this morning, a head-on collision occurred at that intersection. Officials and medical units remain on-scene as of 6:15 am.
Officials warn of extensive delays in the area for several hours as the accident investigation and clean-up continues. In addition, drivers heading west to access the south lanes of the Suncoast Parkway will need to plan for alternates. I recommend California Street south to Spring Hill Drive west.
