Plant, Berkeley Make Century Club Preseason Top 100
The Plant and Berkeley Prep volleyball programs were listed in the Century Club National Top 100 Preseason poll on Friday.
The two-time Class 5A state title defending Panthers came in at No. 5, its highest ranking ever, while Berkeley Prep was ranked at No. 63.
Last year, Plant finished the season ranked No. 17 while Berkeley stayed just outside the top 100.
Berkeley’s longtime nemesis, Orlando Lake Highland Prep (defending 3A state champs), was ranked at No. 13 while Winter Park Lake Howell was ranked No. 90.
The 2008 season begins on Sept. 2.
