She won’t attend college until 2011, but Newsome sophomore shortstop Nicollette Levine has decided where she wants to play at the next level.

On Saturday, Newsome coach Jessi Kowal-Ray said Levine has committed to play for the Florida Gators.

As a freshman, Levine had a total of 25 hits, 23 runs, 21 RBIs and two home runs with a .347 batting average to help the Wolves reach the Class 5A region final.  She also recorded a .819 field percentage.

Florida finished the season with a 70-5 record and were the first team in NCAA history to record 70 wins in a season. The Gators lost to Texas A&M in the Women’s College World Series semifinals.
