New York Rangers’ prospect Alexei Cherepanov died today after suffering a heart attack on the bench during a game in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia. Cherepanov, 19, was a first-found pick of the Rangers in the 2007 draft and was in his second season with Avangard Omsk of the KHL.
