The Miami Herald is reporting former Plant quarterback Robert Marve has been suspended for the first game of the upcoming season.
The disciplinary action stems from an incident last year when Marve was charged with two misdemeanors - resisting arrest without violence and minor criminal mischief - after he broke the mirror of a car and briefly tried to evade police on foot last Halloween night in Coconut Grove.
The story states Marve will be the starting quarterback for the Sept. 6 game against Florida after his one-game suspension. Freshman Jacory Harris is expected to start in the opener on Thursday night.
