Willy Aybar replaced Evan Longoria at third base for the top of the eighth.
Longoria did look a bit ginger heading into second on a double in the sixth inning.
Keep in mind that Longoria missed a few days after leaving the game June 2 because of left hamstring tightness. No idea if this is somehow related, but just a thought.
Stay tuned.
Updating: It was indeed the same hamstring. The Rays say Longoria was removed as a precautionary measure after feeling “slight soreness” in his left hammy.
