CHICAGO—One of the perks of a Fox game is the opportunity for someone to read the starting lineup on TV. When the Rays’ PR honchos were asked who might be a good choice, it took about a second and a half to settle on Shawn Riggans.
So Riggo will get his star turn today. I believe his Cliff Floyd intro should be particularly fantastic. Tune in and see for yourselves.
As far as the baseball goes, Scott Kazmir will look to give the Rays a rotation full of 10-game winners. If and when Kazmir secures No. 10, the Rays would become the fifth team in the last 20 years with a quintet of pitchers who have reached that plateau. The others: this year’s Angels, the 2006 White Sox, the 1999 Yankees and the 1998 Braves.
