Here is the information sent out by the team. Sept. 17-19 dates are open to the public with IceFest set for Sept. 21, the Sunday between preseason games.

TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning will open their 16th National Hockey League training camp on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the St. Pete Times Forum. Forty-three players, including new additions Ryan Malone, Matt Carle, Gary Roberts, Radim Vrbata, Mark Recchi, Olaf Kolzig, Adam Hall and Steven Stamkos, are scheduled to report Sept. 16 for physicals and on-ice testing. Players will be divided into two groups (Team Black and Team White) and will begin full on-ice workouts on Wednesday, September 17.

On-ice workouts on Sept. 17th, 18th and 19th will be open to the public, with 2008 Lightning IceFest scheduled for Sunday, September 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The Lightning will hold split squad practices at the St. Pete Times Forum from 11 a.m. - noon and 12:15 - 1:15 p.m, with both practices open to the public.  Each squad will sign autographs on the concourse at the St. Pete Times Forum following their respective practices.

The Chrysler/Jeep Plaza will play host to numerous activities Sunday including DJ Coz from 10 a.m. - noon and the live band, Betty’s Not a Vitamin, from noon - 4 p.m.  Also on the plaza will be a surf simulator ride, the human joust, a bungee trampoline, a rock climbing wall, a carnival tent midway, human foosball, face painting, street hockey and more.  Numerous local radio stations will also be on hand on the plaza. Free parking is available in the VIP West lot.

11 a.m. - noon – Team Black practice

Noon - 4 p.m. – Betty’s Not a Vitamin performs LIVE on the Chrysler/Jeep Plaza

12:45 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. – Team Black autographs
