LG Job Is Zuttah’s To Lose

TAMPA – Arron Sears’ ongoing absence from offseason workouts has apparently cost him job as the Bucs starting left guard.

Sears missed all of the team’s voluntary workouts while dealing with a personal issue and missed the first day of the team’s mandatory minicamp Tuesday for the same reason.
His absence Tuesday was not excused, however, and according to Bucs coach Raheem Morris he will have to beat out second-year pro Jeremy Zuttah if he returns and hopes to win back his starting job.

“I look out there and I see that number so that’s our guy starting for us right now,’’ Morris said of Zuttah, who started six games, including one at left guard, in 2009. “That’s his role, that’s his job.’’

Morris refused again Tuesday to provide any details on Sears situation, other than to say it’s a private matter.
