Chamberlain senior Dentarius Locke, the defending Class 4A state track and field champion at 100 meters and a double gold medalist at this year’s AAU Junior Olympic Championships, received his first scholarship offer this week when the University of Kentucky made an official bid.
Locke visited the Wildcats last weekend, where he took in their football game against the University of South Carolina. He said he plans to make an unofficial visit to the University of South Florida later this week and will make an official recruiting trip to Tennessee next week.
Locke, this year’s Nike Outdoor National Championships silver medalist in both the 100 and 200, says he has also spoken with coaches from Texas Christian, UCLA, Florida, LSU and Georgia.
