In an effort to improve efficiency among their school district, the Hillsborough County School Board has initiated their Transportation Improvement Plan. This pilot program is designed to reduce unnecessary bus stop trips in order to increase on-time drop-offs and pick-ups for students and parents. Every day, Hillsborough County school buses transport more than 93,000 students. While efficiency is a priority to maintain their present services and respond to such pressures as growing traffic delays, school board officials are quick to note that at no time will safety be compromised.
For more information on Hillsborough County’s Transportation Improvement Plan, you can visit the School Board’s website at http://www.sdhc.k12.fl.us/ or call 813-982-5500.
