When photo day started Monday at Gulf High, offensive coordinator Brian Wright was there.
Wright, who also is the boys track coach at Gulf, was admitted to the hospital last week for tests. Wright, better known as “Red,” was hospitalized in April with a ruptured esophagus.
“They think I passed a gallstone,” Wright said.
Wright said he expected to be 100 percent but knows not to push it.
“If I get tired, I’ll rest for awhile,” said Wright, who has lost 91 pounds since April.
Football practice began around the county Monday with three days of non-contact drills.
In other Gulf news, the football team will host its annual “Senior Dessert Night” on Friday, Aug. 15 at W.D. “Des” Little Stadium. All seniors are required to make a dessert which is auctioned. Proceeds go to the booster program. Fallowing the event, the Bucs will practice under the lights beginning at 10 p.m. The auction, which begins at 7 p.m., is open to the public.
