The Sickles girls golf team set a new school record by shooting a team-total 165 on Friday in a victory over Chamberlain at Heritage Harbor.
Friday’s score bested the previous mark of 171, which the Gryphons set last year.
Sophomore Alex Milan led the way with an even-par 36 on the front nine at Heritage Harbor. Senior Katie Bame added a 41, but perhaps the biggest rounds of the day came from freshman Sara Bair and junior Shannon Ogborn, who turned in rounds of 42 and 46, respectively. It was just Bair and Ogborn’s third varsity match.
While the day was a good one for the Gryphons, Sickles coach Mark Mann thought it could have been even better.
“The greens were not in the greatest shape,” Mann said. “They probably could have gone a lot lower.”
