Recent Wharton graduate and former guard/forward Derek Holmes said he will possibly walk-on at UCF in the fall. Holmes, who was helping out at the Best of the South AAU Tournament at Jefferson on Monday, said the coaches at Central Florida want him to work out with the team in August. If all goes well, he said there’s a chance he could make the team.
This past season, Holmes, a 6-foot-3 wingman, averaged 12.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game as a senior.
