Forum: Talk Rays
|
ARLINGTON, Texas—Can we please stick a fork in the Barry Bonds idea? It’s not going to happen. The Rays have shown not a hint of interest in signing the guy, even when his name was one of several they kicked around in internal discussions during spring training.
The latest evidence comes courtesy of Ken Rosenthal, who has more from Bonds’ agent, Jeff Borris, about his client being “blackballed” by MLB. Apparently Borris sent Andrew Friedman a text asking if he’d be interested in Bonds with Carl Crawford and Evan Longoria out and Friedman didn’t respond.
That pretty much says it all, folks. Time to move on to some fresh speculation. The Rays have worked too hard to build something unique in this clubhouse to inject someone like Bonds into it.
