Jesuit senior Greg Dupell has verbally committed to play baseball at Navy, Tigers coach Richie Warren announced Friday.
Dupell had drawn interest from several schools, but said “once I started getting interest from the Naval Academy, I couldn’t turn anything like that down.”
Dupell hit .313 with five home runs and 21 RBI as a junior. As a sophomore, he hit .321 with one home run and 18 RBI.
Dupell also plays football for the Tigers, who play Robinson tonight. He said he is glad to have his commitment out of the way early in his senior year.
“It feels pretty good,” Dupell said. “I’m real excited about it.”
