TAMPA - The Bucs have delayed the start of their minicamp, pushing the original 10:25 kickoff back to 11:10 a.m.
No reason has been given for the delay, but we’re going to take a wild guess and say they’ve decided to wait a little longer to see if quarterback Brian Griese shows up.
OK, we’re just kidding about the Griese thing. No one should expect Griese to be here because his future with this team was sealed the day the Bucs fired Jon Gruden and Griese knows it.
As for the other players who have been absent from “voluntary’’ workouts, we’re expecting Barrett Ruud to be here but we’re not sure if he’ll participate in workouts. We’re not really sure about Arron Sears, but a good guess is that he’ll be excused as he continues to deal with a personal issues.
We’ll be back later with a more official unofficial attendance report.
