Bucs Report
Bucs Activate Jackson And Release Evans

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have activated safety Tanard Jackson and released defensive end Maurice Evans.

Jackson was suspended for the first four games of this season after violating the NFL’s substances of abuse policy. He returned to the team earlier this week and was allowed to participate in practice. Bucs Coach Raheem Morris was uncertain on Friday if Jackson would start, but indicated he would receive significant playing time on Sunday against Philadelphia.

In order to make room for Jackson on Tampa Bay’s 53-man roster, Evans was released.

Jackson finished fourth on the team in tackles last season with 102. He also recorded one sack, one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 2008.
