Andre Berto Vs. Ochocinco? Maybe.

If you’re in need of a good laugh, check out the Twitter feud between Winter Haven’s Andre Berto and Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Chad Johnson AKA Ochocinco.

Ochocinco incorporated boxing into offseason preparation and that has apparently spurred a friendly texting joust.

It’s gotten to the point where Berto has put out a press release via Julie Goldsticker. Check this out:

Welterweight World Champion Andre Berto Responds to Ochocinco’s Challenge

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) – A war of words between WBC Welterweight World Champion Andre Berto (Winter Haven, Fla.) and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ochocinco on Twitter hit new levels on Thursday following the Bengals’ victory over the New England Patriots as Ochocinco told the media that he plans to fight Berto following the football season.

“So when I get in the ring and knock out Berto, and people are like ‘I didn’t know Chad could fight, I just told you,’” Ochocinco told the Sporting News.

Berto is ready to take on Ochocinco’s challenge and had these remarks upon reading about his post-game comments. “Ochocinco has been talking about fighting me for awhile now,” Berto said. “Now that he is talking publicly, I’m ready to get this thing going. When his football season is over, which should be before the playoffs start, I’ll give him the beating of his life. I’ll show him the difference between kicking footballs and getting his butt kicked. “

“By the time I am done with him, he’ll want to change his name to No Mas,” Berto added. “If he’s serious, I’ll give him the business. But if you ask me, he should worry about making sure he scores more points as a wide receiver than a kicker.”

Ochocinco and Berto have been discussing their potential match-up on Twitter for over two weeks. Follow Berto on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/andreberto to get additional updates on the potential match-up between one of the NFL’s top wide receivers and the undefeated welterweight champion.

Andre Berto is the World Boxing Council Welterweight World Champion and maintains a perfect 25-0 record as a professional. An accomplished amateur with numerous national titles, Berto represented Haiti in the 2004 Olympic Games. Outside of the ring, he champions the cause of Haitian citizens as a Board Member of the Carma Foundation, an organization founded by Melky Jean to improve the health and living conditions of poor and vulnerable women in Haiti.
