If you want to catch a game at Red McEwen Field, you better hurry. The Red is closing after Sunday’s game against UConn.

Here are few notes, nuggets and names:

—USF senior receiver A.J. Love had surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee Wednesday. Love’s status for the upcoming season is uncertain. Love suffered the injury late in the spring game April 18 at Raymond James Stadium.

—USF reserve S Charlton Sinclair, who was ineligible last season and was not expected to play much, is transferring.

—A hearing originally scheduled for Thursday morning in the Jim Leavitt vs. USF lawsuit has been moved back to an unspecified date.

—USF softball players JoJo Medina (first-team) and Lindsey Richardson (third-team) earned All-Big East honors Wednesday.

—Arkansas men’s basketball coach John Pelphrey says the program he took over after Stan Heath was fired in 2007 was in disarray academically. Click here to read a story from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
