Good luck Chris Simms, but I agree with the release. Dre Moore was signed to practice squad, needs more conditioning and time learning the Pro System. Release of Clark, Darby and Lucas means some teams have a chance to pick up some players who can help them. Ryan Nece was a valuble member of the Bucs and will be missed. He can play for another team, especially on special teams. Now that John Lynch has been released by New England, should someone go down in Bucs secondary it would be a good idea to sign him for the nickle package and let him retire as a Buc. But only if someone goes down, can’t afford a charity move and John would not want it to be that way.

BigBucFan,The problem is we will have to score 11 to win. Never have been a scoring machine. I don’t see us doing that this year either. When you starting QB seconds guesses the coach and his playbook we are in trouble for sure.

Alfred, the one thing that I have been most impressed with The Bucs over the last 2 seasons is their focus & ability to stop the run. This preseason was phenominal. Now that we have truly beefed up the secondary & with the emergence of TJack, Flip & Sabby, running will be a chore for opponents. Even Adrian Peterson will face a tough challenge. Deuce & Bush will be lucky to get 50 yds between the 2. If Talib keeps up the good work, we may be unstoppable. The speed on our defense is amazing. Haye is back, Gaines is better, Wilkerson has been a real nice surprise. Look for this to be one of the Best Buc Defenses Ever. Special teams as well should be awesome. Buc opponents will be lucky to score more than 10 points per game.

Trust me Todd and Bill - I’d love to see the Bucs come out of NP ( if the game is played ) victorious. But, I think the Saints will beats The Bucs up with their ground game.

The Saints is not a factor, we need to try and win the games like the Vikings, Cowboys, and the Chargers, Giants in the playoffs.Those are some of the games we really have to prepare for.  The Saints are not a problem. Those are easy games.

They had to cut some good players. Several will be on the practice squad if they don’t get picked up by other teams. There is an abundance of good running backs in the NFL right now. Hopefully Clifton Smith gets to stick around. The 53 man squad loooks like 53 good choices. I’m happy for Mack. He really stood out. Now if HardHat just keeps from buying his rookie card, we’ll be in good shape. If Simms wants to go to the Superbowl he can work the Concession Stands. “Would you like chili on your hotdog?”

What kind of great deal do you really think we could get from Simms ? We would have never got a top calibor player. And what we would have gotten would probably be someone that would have gotten cut also. So why trade one player for another for someone that wouldn’t make the team anyway ?  Thats a no brainer!  “GO BUCS”

Simms was never the answer for the Bucs. I predict that he’ll never start
anywhere for any appreciable amount of time. He’s a quality person and a mediocre quarterback.  I was a little ssurprised with Nece, but I wasn’t
paying much attention to that position.
Let’s hope we can compete with this lineup.

Why would the Bucs want to release Simms before they absolutely had too? Helping him or any other player get in sinc with another team only hurts the Bucs. All the Bucs care about is the Bucs’ organization. That is what they get paid to do. Simms was OK in Miami, but got worse & worse & in Houston he Sucked. I don’t see any team signing Simms after that last performance. The Bucs don’t need 5,6 or 7 round draft choices. We only need 2 or 3 good pics in the Next draft. Even if we only get 1 OT & 1 QB or D Tackle. We are that close. Simms just had no real value. It was worth more to let him deteriorate than to get a 6’th or 7’th round pick. If God gave the US an enima, New Orleans would be the insertion point & Simms would be the nozzle.

So Sim’s gets his wish and we get nothing in return. Stupid..Stupid..Stupid. Bad buisness decission based on Gruden being hard headed. We all knew it was coming..but so did all the other NFL teams. Why give up anything when you can get a great deal for free.  Best of luck to Chris…he always gave all he had. Chris now you can follow our other “quaterback mistakes” and make it to the Super Bowl with a winning team.

steve, not all of us are stupid, but many in here are.  You must not be since you are smart enough to repeat that quote.  We all want our team to win, but some let their feelings rather than reason control their minds.  Everyone wants Simms for some reason.  He wasn’t good.  Who cares about his spleen?  He didn’t almost lose his ability to walk like Everett or something.
Smith and Moore were the only surprises here.

Let it go people, time to focus on what we have.  In Gruden’s defense, I read that Rich McKay hand picked Simms without the blessing of the head coach.  Anyways, I’m guessing he gets picked up by either Chicago or Arizona.  Either way, he’ll get crushed there too and probably lose his appendix.

Well, amazingly enough the City of Tampa is FULL-OF-SUNDAY afternoon, announcer booth “Quarterbacks!”

The guy played with a ruptured “Spleen!” God help us! I think Chris is who he is, an average (+) team player who gives his all!

It does not matter who his Dad is or when he gets released! Anyone that looks at “Chris” will see a man who leaves his ALL on the field!

I really wonder if all the sarcasim would still be presented if SIMMS would have tragically died the Sunday evening of his serious injury?

While I am being honest & speaking truths…how many of you KNOW-IT-ALL have ever even played High-School Ball, how bout College?
