Bucs Report
Pittman And Galloway Practicing

Tampa Bay RB Michael Pittman has returned to practice after reinjuring his ankle last week during practice.

Pittman went through Thursday’s drills without an ankle brace and appeared to be in slight discomfort, but is practicing, while WR Joey Galloway is also out on the field. Galloway normally sits out on Wednesday’s and practices each Thursday, so his absence was no surprise.

However, QB Jeff Garcia was not on the practice field, and during the first 30 minutes of practice, backup QB Luke McCown participated in all the throwing drills, while QB Bruce Gradkowski handed off to running backs. Coach Jon Gruden will probably not tell anyone who Sunday’s starting quarterback will be, but it appears McCown currently has the inside track.

Jeff should sit it out this week.  Game plan should be to run all day, control the ball on the road; Dungyball–get an ugly win.  Beautiful!

Either Luke or Bruce should be able to manage that. But I’d give the edge to Luke and go with him, as there is no doubt the Saints have seen the film on Bruce from last week and they’ll know exactly what they need to stop, and more so WHAT THEY DON’T.

The Bucs need this game.  Playoffs for Bucs is no slam-dunk.  The Saints’ schedule is a bit tougher than the Buc’s down the stretch, but still the Bucs must avoid a collapse and win 4-of last-5.  To do so, they need to prove they can adapt their game plan for these remaining games and whatever playoff scenario they face.

Gruden, PROVE YOURSELF !

‘ski is handing off to the running backs…that’s the game plan…that’s all he should have to do in new orleans…run, run, run…keep things simple and escape with a “w”...no penalties, no turnovers, no excuses…two behind green bay with 5 left to play…the #2 seed (and a bye) isn’t an impossible accomplishment…

I think now is the perfect time to see what Mckown can do. This is not the kind of situation were we want to rush a 37 year old QB (and basically the reason we’re in first place) back onto the field. If Garcia needs to sit out for the next couple of weeks then so be it. Let Mckown take all the snaps with the #1’s and lets see if there is a future starting QB on our roster or if we need to look elsewhere in the off season. Gradkowski needs to hold the clip board for 2 or 3 more years. He’s not ready to go yet. GO BUCS

C’mon….so many people think a team is doomed when they lose their starting QB.  McCown will be fine once he gets into a rhthym.  The team will be fine overall….although they may struggle this week not because of McCown but it is a road game against a division rival.

At any rate, the Bucs should be fine for the regular season, with or without Garcia….they aren’t going to catch Green Bay or Dallas, so they can’t improve their playoff position.

Yes, they will be in the Playoffs and Garcia will be back.  Such reactionaries in Tampa….be grateful that our backup QB can get some real-time experience in case he’s needed in the Playoffs.

DONT MATTER WHO STARTS…LETS JUST HAVE MORE POINTS AT THE THE END OF THE GAME….GO BUCS!

Hopefully Garcia will be out for this game. I think he will pick apart our secondary if he starts. Why we haven’t gone to zone is beyond me.

Unfortunatly this is a must win if we are to be division champs. There will be no wildcard in our future.

Obviously, anyone with a brain wants Garcia to play Sunday. Even though this is big game,is it worth it? What is we win the game; but lose Garcia for the season. I’m may be in the minority on this but start Bruce. In the preseason he has shown more than Luke

I think Gruden would prefer to start Gradkowski if Garcia is not able, but he is going to play this one to please the polls & I think that could be his downfall this week. The saints has shown they are vulnerable to the run, which with either backup QB should fair well w/ a decent running gameplan, also the defense will need to create turnovers by pressing all 4 d-linemen forward + an occational 1 or 2 LB or secondary players disguised appropriately w/ timely blitzes. The Bucs this season is blitzing a little more than 1 out of 8 defensive plays, but in hostile field I think they will have to raise this number at least 20% of the D-plays.This is their game run initially then take what the D gives you.

I am a long time and faitful fan.
I was a season ticket holder for the last 11 years. ( sorry can’t afford them any more.

The Bucs need to get 12 good easy to apply plays for the offense, while Gracia is out. Not all Passing.
Become so good at them, that even when the opposing defense knows what is coming, They can still move the ball and score touchdowns.
I am a simple man and I know this will work.

I think it will be Garcia, he is resting to heal and doesn’t really need the work with the starters at this stage of the season.  If Garcia can’t go or during the game he hurts too much it will be McCown.  Got to keep NO guessing until the last minute.
