Bucs CB Brian Kelly, who tweaked a strained groin in Sunday’s 33-14 loss to the Colts, missed practice. MLB Barrett Ruud (knee) and DE Greg White (shoulder) were limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Ruud, the team’s leading tackler, missed time in training camp with a bruised left knee and veteran Jeremiah Trotter may dress for the first time this season if Ruud’s knee doesn’t improve.
‘‘Trotter’s in the bullpen,’’ Gruden said. ‘‘He’s ready to go if needed. You’re always concerned when a guy’s nicked up a little bit. We expect him (Ruud) and Greg White to play in the game.’‘
When Gruden was asked for details on Ruud’s condition, he generated some unintended laughs.
‘‘We’re calling it a sore body,’’ he said, employing the same vague phrase he offered in August when asked about T Luke Petitgout, whose sore back kept him sidelined for 10 days of training camp.

This is not a big deal. Kelly has been nursing some injuries all season, but Buchanon can come in and fill the role nicely. Ruud’s “injury” is concerning, but this is why we signed Trotter…he’s just the kind of insurance policy we need. As far as White…well…we seem to be carrying 10,000 d-linemen for a reason…if he’s out, there are only 9,999 left to replace him.
I’m not worried…nobody else should be either.

you say players need to group and quit worrying about people out, so do you writers, instead of whining about what could have been, the thing that amazes me is how all of you writers seem to blame gruden and allen for this. you do not go out and pick up an all-pro rb or lt everyday.

With Ruud nursing a sore knee, Trotter needs to dress. Although Ruud has been handling his business this year Trotter will defenitely help in stopping the run. To me that has been our weak spot on D, really stopping the run. Look at what the Colts did to us last week. It might have been a different ball game if Keith wasn’t running all over us.
