thats why i said what i said my last entry...the media and most of our supposed fans always have something negative to say bout our team...winning 3 divisional titles in 6 years...esp with 12 or 13 injuries every year for the last 3 yrs...our 4th string running back almost cleared a thousand yards and he didnt start until like week 5 or 6(correct me if im wrong...we have the youngest oline in the nfl and the last time i checked..they were doing pretty good...our defense was in the top 5 again...whats there to be negative about...we went out and filled holes we needed to in the draft...added depth at postions we needed to....so once again...WHERES THE PROBLEM AND THE NEED FOR NEGATIVITY...GO F%^*IN BUCS!

Wow Roy. It’s time for you to listen to the VAST majority of your readers. The NEGATIVES & speculation? We have a great team, even when plagued by injury, still win. The Draft and FA moves will improve this team. If Chucky, Bruce & The Bucs are so bad, why do so many players love to play here. I’m Proud to be a Buc Fan. I’m Horse after every game. Talk trash about the Bucs when I’m at the Game, we,re gonna fight. I don’t care who you are. It’s like Recon. If you can’t hack it, Pack it. The attitude we need to have is “Nobody comes in our House and pushes us around or talks bad about our team”. A Buc is a Buc is a Buc & has my support. Our fans need to get on board and support our team, yell and scream, and drink profusely.

So BUC-CA-ROOS this is the REAL Question: Are the BUCS sufficiently FA’d and DRAFT’D to get passed the FIRST round? Or is THIS the cheerleaders BLOG… And don’t be little girly men...an OK Roy article with not much new but you bloggers need to vent I guess...so 1st round wantabees maybe the Ravens get there with a rookie QB...we won’t forget....oh you got your project players to work on...BAG ON ROY some more guys...go ahead, make my day.

This is a clear case of Roy trying to outsmart everyone.  His thinking is obvious, a) Bucs need an impact WR, b) Henry is available, c) Bucs take chances with troubled players.  Unfortunately, Roy’s not that smart and the Bucs are not that desparate.  The media in Tampa have created this so-called playmaking crisis which isn’t the case.

Are you kidding? Cummings is the only reporter who had Henry coming to visit the Bucs yet he’s the one “not surprised”.

Seems to me he was the only one surprised....or disappointed.

Mr.Dotson well said!!!! Roy should move to Indy because he loves Dungy so much. The fact that he uses a lowlife like henry to attack the Bucs management and pick selections shows he is just justifying his job cause he is running out of ##### to write!!!!

you know what...everybody can talk s&*t bout this and that...presume this and presume that...this guy is goin to do this or hes not goin to do this...only prob is...NOBODY has seen any of our draft picks,free agents or undrafted free agency play yet...so how in the hell can anybody talk s*&t about what this team is goin to be like...and that includes mr.cummings...so tired of hearing the negative B.S. bout this team...GO BUCS!

T Smith you can’t be serious about Amarri Jackson! That guy is the definition of BUST. He was a bust at USF so I have no idea why the Bucs signed him other than trying to look good for the community. No way he makes the final roster.

Roy, define doing virtually nothing. We picked up a fine receiver in Free Agency.  A 1000 yard type of impact receiver.  Sure he has baggage, but less baggage than Henry (who you were keen on trading for).  In the draft, we spent our #2 pick on a WR.  Using a 2nd round pick is a big investment for a team, and is reserved for players the team thinks will provide big returns on in the future.  What did you expect the Bucs to do in the draft? Draft 2 WRs?  What did you expect teh Bucs to do in FA?

First the Bucs were poised to take Malcolm Kelly with the 20th pick, then they weren’t.  Then they are going to trade for Henry, now they aren’t.  This isn’t journalism, it’s the gossip line.  All we want is some real news.

I like our receivers. I go to all home games. Michael Clayton has talent, has dropped many passes, but he is getting better. He also had the highlight block of the year downfield that sprung Galloway for a TD. Amari Jackson may surprise some people. He has been improving and we really liked his play in high school. I think he’s another Colsten type player with hunger. I also think this team will be so profficient at running the ball, that our receivers will not have to all be downfield threats. I would like to see Zuttah at fullback and Josh Johnson can run like the wind. Michael Clayton’s blocking skills will prove valuable this year in key situations. This offense is being set-up to steamroll defenses with the run.

I think we should just consintrate on the recievers we have right now. We can still have a great year with the ones we have now.Between next years draft and FA there will be alot of talent available at that possition of
WR.Alot better then this year.That also goes for QBs that should be available. I really think thats whats on the front office of the Bucs are thinking also.This was the year to build the core of your football team (OL,DL,RB,CBs ect...) Next year is the year for (QBs,WRs) We will see how much they improve. Time will tell.

Kinzer, please enlighten me on where you get your basis that Clayton can’t catch the ball?  80 receptions in his rookie year tells me that he can catch the ball.  Sure, he has some drops, but no more than TO, and I’ve seen Galloway drop some gimme’s too.  Remember that TD vs the Bengals in 2006, that was one hell of a catch.  The point I’m trying to make, get off Clayton’s back.  Sure, he may not be that 80 catch WR anymore, but the man has ability, size and strength.  Let’s see him use it rather than constantly ripping on him.

Hi Roy, How do you figure that the Bucs would “lead more heavily on Clayton”???  He has had one good year and three years as a BUST!!  He simply can’t catch a football!!  What other team in the NFL would take him??  You must be trying to suck up to Gruden, he keeps playing Clayton even when he knows that he cannot catch a football!!

Jake, Henderson was horrible last year and couldn’t catch anything, Stallworth has to be the most overrated wide receiver in the league and has only ever had a couple good games, seriously anyone could have had success in the Pats system last year but Stallworth still didn’t, oh and Berrian might have been a decent addition as a #2 receiver but he was snatched up so fast by the Vikings it didn’t seem like he was considering anyone else and Gruden and Allen can’t be blamed if a player doesn’t have any desire to play here. The o-line and running game will be even better this year which should provide more opportunities for the passing game.

Agreed on Walker,Johnson and Hackett. But I believe recievers available such as Donte Stallworth, Bernard Berrien, or Devery Henderson could have helped this team. Bruce felt that they werent worth the price they were asking. Well apparently 3 other NFL Gm’s did.  We will see how this works out but I am skeptical at best about the WR position on the Bucs.

Gee what a surprise.  I actually read about this on ESPN.com (that Henry was interested in NO or Dallas) yesterday, so great reporting Roy, it took a call to Henry’s agent to find out what James Walker already reported on.  It’s also no surprise because the Bucs already signed Antonio Bryant and drafted D Jackson, but we already knew about that as well.
We also knew that Jackson was a project and was drafted to improve the return game and probably was not starting day one across from Galloway.
So in summary, thanks for telling us what we already knew.
How much is the trib paying you? Cause I could us a night job that doesn’t eat up too much of my time.

Roy, let’s hope you’re wrong about the idea of Dexter Jackson being a project at receiver.  I think the Bucs see him as more of a Santana Moss or Antwaan Randle-El, someone who can fit in the slot and burn slants and posts all over the field.  Tampa’s wide receiver situation is too precarious to not use him at least as a slot receiver early on, and his speed is too good.
