Former Wharton guard Shawn Vanzant, who went on to play for two-time NCAA national runner-up Butler University, will be in Los Angeles tonight for the ESPYs.
The Butler men’s basketball team is up for the Best Game Award for it’s NCAA tournament game against No. 1 seed Pittsburgh. With 0.8 seconds left, Butler’s Matt Howard made one free throw to give the Bulldogs a 71-70 win to advance to the round of 16.
Vanzant said he is attending with former guard Sheldon Mack and Howard. He has not prepared a speech if they should win.
“I’m just going to go with the flow,” he jokingly said.
Vanzant graduated this past spring with a degree in Sociology. He said he is currently looking to play for a pro team in Australia.
