LAKE BUENA VISTA - The latest Brett Favre rumors have him talking with the Bucs about a possible trade - again.
We’ve heard these reports before, but the Favre saga seems to be nearing an end and the latest report from ESPN has Favre showing a willingness to talk to the Bucs.
Shortly after 5 p.m. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen went on the air by telephone to report that Favre had agreed to talk with the Bucs about a possible trade later today, but that those talks had not yet taken place.
Favre was given permission to talk to the Bucs previously but he reportedly passed on the opportunity. It could be that he has finally given in to the Packers’ refusal to release him or move him to a team of his choice and that he now realizes the only way for him to play again is with a team such as the Bucs.
Bucs Coach Jon Gruden left his team’s afternoon practice Tuesday saying he hadn’t heard anything about a deal that would bring Favre to the Bucs.
Favre admitted earlier in the day to being at a stalemate with the Packers, who don’t appear to want him back in any capacity. It is believed that Favre’s desire is to play for the Vikings or maybe the Bears, but a deal that would result in that seems unlikely.

Favre to Tampa would be the best addition in years. Get your #4 Jerseys on order.
Mr. Favre welcome to Tampa. Think of how many Superbowl rings you would have if you came here in 1999. As a bonus, we’ll even bring Warren Sapp out of retirement.

Good job Jesse,i agree 100% with you-Gruden and Allen are two jokers.I don’t know if you casual fans keep up with what the bucs do but didn’t we trade a pick for Griese-now another pick for another QB-ARE YOU KIDDING!How many garage sales can we go to?Can we play with what we got-have anybody stop to think that maybe its Gruden garbage system?

Shawn. Garcia is a rent a QB. Isn’t he? This is the best thing to happen to Tampa since the worst thing was Sapp and Lynch leaving the team. Myabe Warren and Lynch can pose a comeback, too!

I AM A BRETT FARVE LOVER BUT IAM ALSO A 30 YAER DIE HARD BUCS FAN I THINK BRETT SHOULD JUST RETIRE LIKE HE SAID HE WANTED TO AND KEEP HIS LEGACY AS THE GREAT QUARTERBACK OF THE GREEN BAY PACKERS, WE ALREAD HAVE A LOT OF TALENT AT QUARTER BACK HER IN TAMPA AND WE SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON THEM

NO, NO, NO—don’t do it! Bringing Favre in will be a big mess. I’ve been a Bucs fan a long time and have watched Favre carve us up plenty. He’s not the answer for this team. Bringing him in will:
1. Create a media circus
2. Create team dissension
The team is behind Garcia, let’s leave it alone. For the Glazers it will be nice because the team will get unbeleivable media attention and will probably get some more national games, not to mention the merchandising of the #4 Bucs jersey. But from a team aspect, this would be a negative move. Let him go to Miami or Minnesota. We’re fine here!!

Bringing Brett in IS NOT a bad thing! Period! He’s one of the best QBs in the game, and among the best to ever play. So, from a football, wins and losses, standpoint, it’s a heck of a move. However, there are a few concerns:
1. Does he even want to play here?
2. What happens with Jeff Garcia?
3. Can he learn the playbook/build chemistry with the team fast enough?
4. What are we giving up to “rent” a QB for a year or two.
In the end, these concerns will determine whether this is a good move or not…if it’s even being made. For now, football-intelligence says do the deal. But, a lot of the other concerns, as listed above, say “don’t do it.” Time will tell.

A major reason why Favre to the Bucs would be a great move is because of what he would do to the careers of people like Clayton, Stovall, D. Jackson, Bryant, etc. Garcia does have his positive qualities but Favre makes WR’s better, and a young core of “potential” needs a player like him. Anyone else care to remember that Favre is actually younger then Garcia. Simms and a 4th to GB, then send Garcia to Minn. Done and done.

I think Gruden is so disappointed with his top 3 QB’s that Simms is actually emerging as at least as good if not better than the top 3. That makes Gruden look bad. So much so, he’ll pull the trigger on a Favre trade no matter what the cost.

Hey, Jesse. What ever dude. Please answer with a simple yes or no. Will Brett Farve in Tampa increase the Bucs chances to win the SuperBowl? Will Farve in a Bucs jersey be exciting? My answer to both is YES! What’s your answer? GO BUCS!! Damn it Bruce, go get Favre! NOW!!!

I know Brett is a 1st ballot Hall of Famer and still a good QB but it was him that didn’t want to talk to us in the first place. I say lets stick with the guy who helped change us around last year and that’s Garcia!!!

Who cares? This whole thing has made the Bucs look worst than any other team. We look so desperate to take another teams left overs. Just give it a rest already.
