Bucs sign Moffitt to practice squad

Former University of South Florida LB Ben Moffitt has signed with the Tampa Bay Bucs as a member of the Bucs’ practice squad.

Moffitt, a four-year starter for USF, previously had signed a free-agent deal with the Houston Texans, but was cut before the regular season began.

Shawna get over yourself ! Everyone should get court records and read them before commenting on what really happened in this marriage . She is very lucky he didn’t demand a public apology for all the lies that came out and she had to admit to .SO GET YOUR FACTS STRIGHT!!!!!

Work at Amscot, with a name like Moffit in the Tampa area and a college degree, I am sure that it won’t be hard to find work. What a douchebag this guy must be for trying to follow his dream, or maybe all you douchbags never followed yours. Those who can’t do talk smack, and those that can…

Look at the Tatum Bell situation. He was reportedly getting offers from 3-4 teams to be a back up and now no teams are even returning his calls apparently.

Do Vern and Micheal Harris know each other personally or something?? Was i the only one who wondered how Vern knows Micheal takes bad pictures??? I was going to just leave a comment inquiring if anyone knows if the Bucs also signed Moffitt’s ex to read the playbook for him, but unfortunately 3-4 people beat me to it..lol. One insight on why Moffitt may not be getting a shot is the character issue. Whether its the child support claims or the ex reportedly doing his homework, with the NFL cracking down on character issues and such, marginal players are getting blackballed by most teams because the P.R. damage is just not worth the risk.

LOL Vernon. Your wife is good in bed though. Thanks for sharing. LOL. I don’t recall me saying anything about Moffitt’s South Tampa self appointed morals squad report. You know, all the South Tampa people who talk about other people, to cover up their own THANG. I stick to my scouting report, after talking to several Bucs insiders. Last I checked this is a football blog not the gossip page. I hear they do a lot of that down in South Tampa though. Check it out Vern.

I’m not studying the damn playbook or serving as your tackling dummy again Ben!

Moffitt could stick. If he can play special teams well he will. As far as speed goes, if I recall Moffitt had one of the top 5 shuttle times for a LB at the NFL combine. Doesn’t sound slow to me. Has good hands too.

He may be just what the Bucs needed! If he can read and understand Chinese quickly, he could help hold Barber up prevent him from falling down all of the time. After that, if he does not fall down a lot, he could replace Barber. Barber still can blitz, but he can’t be trusted to break up a pass anymore!

Sounds like someone has multiple personality disorder…as well as not knowing a damn thing about scouting reports….and a fascination with male reproduction organs.

wow vern is a D*ck
to come out and go after someone like that for giving their opinion
you guys married?

as far as character issues the last thing I remember about the whole case was that moffits lawyer had copies of the checks he was sending to his ex for child support.
never heard of character issues while at usf players loved his leadership.

I enjoyed watching Moffitt play at USF and it was hard to believe that he was SO BAD that he couldn’t get on with ANY of the 32 NFL teams. Hopefully he’ll find a way to improve enough with the NFL coaches who will be working with him now, and get on somewhere like Andre Hall did. I think a lot of USF guys not getting into the NFL is because most NFL teams and scouts don’t know USF very well. But that’s changing.

PS - That was pretty funny asking if his wife was going to study the play book for him.

I agree with Vern. Didn’t this guy bail on child support? Doesn’t sound like a great team character to me. You need to stop thinking about male genitalia and talk about football and the facts.

This is the start of the last year or two of this guy’s career. This practice squad, that practice squad…a couple more years of ringing people’s phones and then he’s handing out money orders at the local Amscot.

Sheesh what a way to be a penis, Vernon

Wow, Vernon, you’re a dick.

Nice “scouting report”, Michael. The guy has character issues and is too small. Stick to taking bad pictures and leave the scouting reports to those who know what the hell they are talking about….

Here’s my scouting report on Moffitt: Great attitude, a real team player, good in the locker room, good hitter, decent tackler, good hands, slow, lacks NFL side to side mobility and speed of most Bucs Linebackers. Needs help on coverage. Will be a good special teams player. Signing Moffitt tells me that Ruud’s injury may be more serious than we were led to believe.

i wonder if his ex will study the playbook for him

nice to see ben moffitt still hanging in there for a shot in the NFL. I go to all the USF games and always thought he would have a decent chance to make an NFL team. Even if the Bucs dont keep him hopefully he can catch on with a team next year.
