Berkeley’s Heaberlin named Parade All-American

Berkeley Prep goalkeeper Bryane Heaberlin has been named to Parade magazine’s All-America girls soccer first team after helping lead the Buccaneers to the Class 3A state title game and being named to the U.S. women’s under-20 World Cup squad.
Heaberlin, who just completed her sophomore year at Berkeley, will be part of the U.S. squad that will compete in Germany in July. She recorded nine shutouts and a 0.85 goals-against average for the Buccaneers last season.
Heaberlin was one of three players from Florida named to the team, Melbourne Viera High’s Katie Stengel and Orange Park St. John’s Country Day’s Kaili Torres also being selected. Morgan Brian of Frederica Academy in St. Simon’s Island, Ga. was named the Parade Girls Player of the Year.
