Turnovers Can Kill You

Posted Dec 23, 2007 by Anwar S. Richardson

Updated Dec 23, 2007 at 06:47 PM

All it took was a turnover by Tampa Bay to get San Fran a healthy 21-13 lead against a struggling offense early in the fourth quarter. After Nate Clements returned an interception 62-yards, compliments of TE Alex Smith not catching the ball, Frank Gore took a short pass 23-yards for a TD. What do you think of San Fran’s current momentum?

Posted Dec 23, 2007 by Anwar S. Richardson

Updated Dec 23, 2007 at 06:24 PM

Tampa Bay’s Phillip Buchanon just fumbled a punt return, but the turnover was negated because the 49ers had an illegal man downfield. Buchanon has really struggled on punt returns recently. Is it time to yank him off that duty?

Updated Dec 23, 2007 at 06:03 PM

Tampa Bay appears to be resting all of it’s main offensive starters. Bucs coach Jon Gruden said he had no intention of resting his starters this week because this game was very important, but apparently was just playing coy with the media.

Smart Kick By San Fran

Updated Dec 23, 2007 at 05:56 PM

San Fran opened up the second half with an onside kick, which is a smart move. San Fran recovered, and considering the 49ers aren’t going to the playoffs, what else do they have to lose?

Garcia Appears To Be Resting

Updated Dec 23, 2007 at 05:38 PM

It appears Jon Gruden decided to rest Jeff Garcia right before halftime and has Luke McCown in at QB. It’s actually a smart move when you consider Garcia has been a helmet-to-helmet victim at least twice in this game. No need for Garcia to get seriously hurt right before the playoffs.
