Six months removed from challenging Cecilia Braekhus for three world titles in Denmark, Tampa’s Chevelle Hallback will make her way back to Europe for another championship opportunity.

Hallback (28-7-2, 11 KOs) will face Myriam Lamare (19-3, 10 KOs) for the vacant IBF female light welterweight belt Nov. 5 at Palais des Sports de Toulon, located in Toulon, France.

In a press release, Hallback, a four-time champion, gave little thought to packing up and hitting the road for another opportunity.

“I’ve got to go far and wide to fight the best,” Hallback said. “I am so excited about getting back into the ring and fighting in France is a plus! I’ve fought in Canada, Japan, Denmark and now France. I am on my way to being internationally known with fans all over the world.

“I need to bring this title home and when I do, create some more opportunities.”

The weeks leading into the fight will be spent at her recently opened Fists of Steel Boxing Academy in Tampa. She’ll arrive in Marseille, France on Oct. 29 to finish out her training camp.

In her last fight for the WBC, WBA and WBO female welterweight titles, Hallback lost by unanimous decision to Braekhus. That was the second defeat in her last six fights. She’s gone 3-2-1 in that span, picking up the IFBA lightweight belt in the process.
