This is 1 of The Biggest Accomplishments, for Bucified & OLE IS Alive Mission!

This Blog Was Edited By Sligh’s Jungle Guide and Librarian Mr. Newhouse

Before I get started, explaining that game we gave away to Carolina Saturday, I have to Congratulate Bucs Guard   #75 Davin Joseph, The news of Joseph’s election to the 2012 NFC Pro Bowl squad, this is great news for our future, because no one from Wonder Woman’s team made it to the Pro Bowl this year…but that is nothing new. Now let me explain the loss. This season hurts, and we know it’s because of the Lock-Out! There’s not much to say about the loss, other than, once again we beat ourselves! The Panthers played well, but we made a lot of mistakes. I must say the experts are starting to respect the fact that we are victims of the Lock-Out. Thank God we don’t have to worry about that for many years, because they signed a ten year contract.

Wonder Woman and her Crew, they called me a loser; I accept that from them, because they are Professional Losers! The last time the Jacksonville Jaguars had a winning season was 2 decades ago, and I know that misery loves company.  The sad part is, that Wonder Woman, is having a problem with being tasteful with the comments towards Ms. Focus…That part hurts, because Ms. Focus Really Love My Mothers Legacy OLE IS Alive, and she cant wait to help me do more in 2012 for the next generation.  I know she take my mothers legacy SERIOUSLY…

Buck to the Bucs,  Trust me this setback, ( because of the Lock-Out), is a Set-up for a major COMEBACK in 2012 for our Buccaneers! I can see the signs on the wall, and my New Years Resolution, is to return to a Winning Team.. The Falcons are very concerned, and I feel we will rain on their parade Sunday, and start the New Year off with our first of many wins to come in 2012! This will be nice because it will knock Atlanta down in the playoff rankings and they will have to play a tough team that will knock them right out of the Play-Offs.

I have to be Bucified, and man up and take the hand that was dealt to me. My students, supporters and my Mother’s legacy are the real reasons I’m Bucified. The philosophy is to parlay the game of football to the game of life, because education and awareness are some of the keys to the Dream Seeker Students achieving their dreams successfully. 2011 was a Milestone year, great way to end a seven year mission, Sunday will be the New Beginning, and we are ready to take “ BUCIFIED & OLE IS ALIVE it to another level in 2012 and Beyond …

Just a quick note from Sligh Middle Magnet School: Phase one of our library revitalization drive has been extended and there is still time as we begin this new year to make a donation to help their students either by contacting the school or going directly through their website at sligh.mysdhc.org… and now back to your regularly scheduled blog:

I wish you all a Happy New Year, my Bucified Fanatical Friends, and I hope you are enjoying the holidays as I am.  I know our Bucs are losing, but my mother’s legacy is really picking me up this year. The program just received another invitation for the Bucified Students inspiring to be musicians to be VIP guests at the Arbors Records festival again on Jan 12-14, held at the Sheraton Sand Key, thanks to my dear friend Gary Baldassari, I know the students would definitely be flabbergasted to hear this news, plus the fact that Gary once took part in the Super Bowl here in Tampa as the music director, and he recorded Whitney Houston Live at the stadium! That’s not all, as he also worked in many other Super Bowls. I am excited for my Bucified Students! It’s great for these future musicians to hear wonderful jazz music by very talented musicians from all over the world. Thanks to Gary…To find out more about this super event click here… Arbors Records - Your Jazz Records Source x

Considering where we were last year, with the new Bucified Outfit, I have been contemplating designing a new outfit for the 2012 season, because every time I change, my expectations of a winning season are always fulfilled! I might even get a new Ship-Head hat made this time around, because I really want more than just a winning season, but this is just food for thought My Bucified Fanatical Friends. I need more time to think about it, before I will make that decision. The game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday will dictate the direction I will take, so stay tuned to the blog. If we beat the Falcons soundly, then there is no need for another OUTFIT!

My Analytical Prognostication for Sunday: The Game was Changed to a 4:15pm kick-off time. I think its because we beat this team before and the NFL knows that we want to finish strong, and that this is a New Year. We will earn our respect back because Atlanta really wants this win, but they will be playing against a much improved Buccaneers Team. So the Falcons will go down, again this time around…

My Prediction Bucs 21 Dirty Birds 14

Santa Give Us Victory No. 5, So We Can Keep Hope Alive!

This week’s column edited by Kari Knowles

I’ve known Bucified since the summer of 2010. Ever since I was introduced to his program, I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing individuals and gained insightful experience in the field of journalism. His enthusiasm and perseverance motivates me to continue to do great things in college and beyond. Thank you, Bucified, for being an inspiration in my life and may you continue to be a blessing in the lives of others. – Kari Knowles

Before I talk about that ugly game Sunday when we were beaten, I’d like to send a special note to everyone. In the tradition of keeping my mother’s legacy going, I would like to send a special message to my fanatical friends, the naysayers, a.k.a “Haters,” and even Wonder Woman and her Crew. This is what keeps me going day in and day out!

I want to send each of you a special greeting and a wish for Santa to bring you and yours many blessings in the New Year!  Thanks for being my friend. Your friendship and the “fun” times we enjoyed in 2011 were certainly blessings in my life.

May the gift of love, the gift of peace and the gift of happiness be yours at Christmas. Let the spirit of love gently fill your hearts and homes. In this loveliest of seasons, may you find many reasons for happiness.

Please know that this was a milestone year for the Bucified & OLE IS Alive Mission. The Dream Seeker Program now has 16 students who have received scholarships in honor of my mother, Emma-Lee’s Legacy. This December, I had to travel the same roads my mother grew up on for a graduation in Tallahassee for one of my scholarship recipient’s graduation. Here is the e-mail she sent to me earlier this month.

“Dear Bucified Bert, I will be graduating from Florida State University on December 16th 2011, with a Bachelors of Science in Criminology and Sociology. I would like to invite you to participate in the commencement ceremony for the 2011 graduating class. I appreciate all the moral and financial support that you have given to me over the course of these three years; and would be honored if you were to celebrate this momentous occasion with my family and I. It is a blessing to have met you back in 2008. You are a very warm and caring individual and I am very inspired by the Bucified Bert motto. I am pleased to be apart of the legacy of “Ole is Alive” operation Emma lee. Thank you for all that you have done; it would be a pleasure to share this moment with you. Thanks, Ornella Dickson”

I want to thank Ms. Ornella Dickson and congratulate her because it was a wonderful experience to witness the first-ever Bucified Student to walk across that stage and obtain her bachelor’s degree. I don’t need anything else for Christmas,  because I am so excited that my student invited me back to my mother’s hometown for this very special occasion. We celebrated so much after the ceremony that I had to stay overnight at one of my relatives’ houses, and Ms. Ornella had to help me navigate because I never would have made it without her assistance!

Now, My Fanatical Friends, you have been most helpful in my profound quest to keep my mother’s legacy alive. As I look to a strong closing of 2011, please know your kindness was greatly appreciated and I look forward to continuing our relationship in 2012.

OK, I can`t say much about the game against the Cowboys, other than we played better than them in the second half, and those are signs that we are getting this ship in the right direction. This is what Ms. Focus had to say about the game,

“I loved the entire event. The fireworks, the music, the car give-away, the pyrotechnics (the fireballs were really cool) and just the entire fanfare of an NFL pro football game! How cool is that for a birthday gift, huh? I guess you can tell this was my first NFL football game! Anyway, that was the most exciting birthday I’ve had since I was 18 years old and I cannot thank Bucified Bert enough.”

This is week 16 and the only reason we will play hard in this game is because we have pride and we have Santa. After all, the game is being played on Christmas Eve and we do not like the Panthers. Wish for win No. 5, and that is not asking for much because we know we can beat these chumps from Carolina.  We need to get revenge this holiday. Please, Santa, bring victory No. 5 our way, so we can keep hope alive!

My Bucified Prediction is the Bucs 26, Panthers 17.

As my mother would say, “Merry Christmas!” Bucified
includes Happy Hanukkah and Kwanzaa also!/ Albert

Thanks Mr Dayle Green, for allowing the Bucified Students to be on Cox Radio…

This Blog was edited by: K. D., H. A. and S. S. with Mr. Newhouse of the Sligh Jungle Crew

OK My Bucified Fanatical Friends, we were killing the Jaguars last week, just as I predicted, whooping the Jaguars 14 to 0, in the first quarter, until we started beating ourselves, by making costly mistakes in the 2nd quarter of the game. This is very indicative of a team with players that are young and who really needed the training that we didn’t get because of the National Football League’s “LOCK OUT.“  Now I really believe this with all my heart. We played a sorry team, and if we would not have given them the football 7 times, they would have lost. I don’t see this happening anymore, because we made every mistake imaginable!  I consider this an early Holiday gift to Wonder Woman and her crew, because its strange, that they have been trying to get back on the blog for 8 weeks, Thank God for them that we lost, because they are miraculously not having any more technical problems! It took them 8 weeks for all of them to figure out how to get back on the blog! As I stated in previous blogs, I am committed to keeping my mothers legacy alive, and the students are my focus and I wan to thank everyone take me seriously.. There are a lot of readers of the blog..I know now that our chances to go to the Playoffs are over, but we still have our PRIDE, and it will show this Saturday, in our Stadium against The Great Dallas Cowboys, I just want to say I am sorry to Buc Man and Buc Maniac, but you will not be disappointed this week, cause we will all be in Raymond James!..

Now regarding, Sligh Middle Magnet School who were on all six of the Cox Media FM Radio Stations last week. Here is what they had to say, as you know , I am Bucified & OLE Is Alive for the Next Generation..

H. A., 8th grade student-  “Being invited to talk on the radio was such an honor and an experience I’m not sure I’m going to have again. I love how the jungle crew and administration could express how we are in dire need of books to the community and hopefully the community will react. I really enjoyed the experience with Dayle Greene and Bucified Bert and especially with the Jungle Crew.”

S. S., 7th grade student-  “Being invited to be on the radio was a huge honor and even more so because of Bucified Bert.  It was an experience that I will never forget about in a 100 years.  It was so amazing[that] I even got to share my opinion about the reason why we need books,  and what I wanted to be when I grow up. The parts that were the best was [at the end] when we all took pictures and when I got to give a shout-out to my friend Samantha on her birthday.”

K.D., 7th grade student- “Being invited to watch and talk on the radio was an experience. Seeing Bucified Bert again made it even more special. It was the first time I ever got to experience the process of being on the radio, and was given the chance to talk on the radio and I hope it’s not my last. Dayle Greene told a story about a girl that read 1 million words. She was told by her teacher that she was not college material. That inspired me to go to college even more, because she then proved the teacher wrong and went to college. That was the best part of the broadcast to me.”

D.L., 6th grade student- “Being invited to be on the radio was a real honor. Not all children can say that. It’s like publicly expressing what you think and everyone can hear you; Especially your peers, brothers, sisters, and all of your relatives.”

M.J., 7th grade student- “Being on the radio was awesome because we got to be on the radio live to [be heard by] everybody that listens to the radio. I had got to be on the radio for the first time of my life. Bucified Bert and Mr. Green were there in person at my school to say things on the radio.”

W.S., 7th grade student- “Being the camera man was great because I recorded the show and had fun doing it. Bucified Bert was really energetic and funny too. Mr. Green is a very nice man and I’m glad to be the camera man. In the future I would like to be a surgeon. The access to new books sounds awesome because us kids love to have more books to read [to further our education].”

And now back to your regularly scheduled blog:

This Just in, the Jags got beat, last night 41 to 14, by a team that the Buccaneers beat this year in September…I wonder, what do Wonder Woman and Her Crew, have to say about that?

My Bucified Analytical Prognostication for week #15… My Fanatical Friends, after our Buccaneers gave those chumps in Jacksonville the game, by making all of the mistakes and 7 turnovers…we were very embarrassed… The Dallas Cowboys give us a chance to redeem ourselves,  because this is a much better team, and combined with a bad taste in our mouth from losing 7 straight, we are VERY HUNGRY, and this is the last game of the year at Raymond James,  I asked for back Up,  and I am So excited, that BUC MAN, BUC MANIAC, and the REAL DEAL Ms. FOCUS are all in TAMPA BAY, and they are Ready to help the BUCS, stop, the LOSING STREAK…BRING IT!!  Cowboys,  Now is the time we must send a message to the world, and the Silver Stars and Blue, that they won’t go to the play-offs, after the Buccaneers are through!

My Prediction is the Bucs 24 and the Cowboys 14

Bucified Bert needs help at Ray Jay…from Ms. Focus, Buc Man, and Buc Maniac!

Tune in this Sunday on the Cox Media Group consisting of 6 FM Radio Stations, as this Network captures at least 10% of the 2.25 million radio listeners in the Bay area! Special thanks to Cox`s Radio personality Dayle Greene (The Host of the Spectrum talkshow), who is conducting a couple of interviews on this week’s show. The show airs Sunday morning starting at various times, and I have noted some of these airtimes, that I am aware of from past experience, as this will be my fourth appearance on these stations. The Tampa Bay Area listeners should tune in from 6:00 to 7:25 am approximately on Sunday, December 11, 2011, as the Bucified & OLE IS Alive Mission assists an educator who has worked with the program for the last 6 years, Mr. Newhouse of Sligh Middle Magnet School in his school’s quest to revitalize their aging library book collection, to better serve their students who are thirsty for high interest materials that are sorely lacking, and the interview will last approximately 25 minutes during that period on all six FM Radio Stations… Tune in on your radio dial, to the following radio stations:  WDUV “The Dove” 105.5FM (TUNE IN AT 6am),  WWRM “Magic 94.9” (6:50 Am FM), 97.1FM ”WSUN”,  WHPT “The Bone” 102.5 FM, and WXGL “The Eagle” 107.3 (6:30 am). 101.5 “ WPOI “  HOT The radio broadcast will also be streaming online … and now back to your regularly scheduled blog!

Well my fanatical friends,  I feel really bad for being wrong again with my predictions this week.  It was a divisional rivalry against the Panthers. We will see this team again in 2 weeks and I can’t wait for that REMATCH!  I am so sorry for our Buccaneers because I really understand now why I am “eating so much crow” this year like those professional Crow Eaters, Wonder Woman, and her crew.  Unlike them, I will always be able to talk because I know how to articulate or shall I say, explain what I think the problem is as to why my team is struggling to win. Before I give you the skinny or shall I say reason, let me go back to last year’s 2010 season.

Last year I was so right winning 11 out of 16 games.  Now, I know that the records indicate that we only won 10 games, but I say 11 because I take into account that the referees took one of our games, and apologized later. Keep in mind we did all that with a young team and the youngest coach in the entire National Football league.

In 2010 before that very promising season, Our Coach Raheem Morris had access to our players, young and old by March, and College players in April of 2010.  He had the time to Train the new talent. This is why he was able to predict 10 wins in August.  Coach Morris knew what he was working with about 6 months before the season began in 2010. I must say he shocked all of the so called “experts”.

After that great season was over our very young coach and General Manager had to deal with the NFL “  Lock OUT “.  This means they could not talk to any players, or let them see all that professional literature ( Play Book ),  until literally 2 weeks before the 2011 season started. The Lock Out was lifted by the OWNERS and the PLAYERS after they signed a 10 year agreement.

But in the meantime The Experts predicted that we would be affected because we were denied the TIME ( Like We Had In 2010 ) to get our new players acclimated to the NFL system, Coach Raheem’s scheme, and philosophy.  Some of our players came straight out of college and only were given 2 weeks to turn PRO, So although we are mathematically in the playoff hunt, Our Youngry team are falling victim to the “ Lock Out “ ..

This is My Bucified Opinion, and I have to add a solution for the rest of the season,, We need to bring in some reinforcement,  My Bucified Fanatical Friends,  Buc Maniac, Buc Man, I know you all will take care things in Jacksonville…But, what about TAMPA,  Ms Focus, and Ms Holly Roller..We need additional support here in the Stadium, can you all come to Raymond James Stadium and give me some Back up Please? Buc Man, Buc Maniac, if you all can make it to Tampa Bay For the Cowboys Game, that would really make my day!

MY analytical Prognostication: Josh Freeman will play my fanatical friends.  The last time I checked, the Bucs were the Best NFL team in the state of Florida.  I expect that the Bucs will give us a strong finish starting Sunday against the helpless and hopeless losers, who have never won a Super Bowl title. Yes, you know I am talking about… the Jacksonville Jaguars!

Our Coach Raheem will give us a taste of what to look forward to from now on as we prepare to finish off the season at 8 and 8 ( .500 Team ).  So we will go to the Jags’ house and hit them in the mouth because we have bragging rights and a FLORIDA STATE PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL RIVARY! So….. Let’s Go Bucs!!

My Prediction   Bucs 35 Jaguars 17

We Have the Answer to Beat the Panther!

This Blog Was Edited by The Jungle Guide of Sligh Middle Magnet School

My Fanatical Friends, welcome back, and I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend! Despite the Buccaneers seventh loss of the season to the Titans, I managed to have a great Turkey Day, and I really enjoyed my family and friends.

Now let me jump into football and elaborate as to why, because my prediction was wrong about the Bucs (trust me, this one really hurts): I did not see us losing to Tennessee, and I did not know that Josh Freeman had hurt his hand at the gun firing range about 4four games ago. I feel like a crow-eater, but this Sunday a change will come, the Bucs will win, and the other teams we are competing against will lose. Please stay tuned because we have too much football season left to play.

Let me explain what went wrong: Well, you know we have a young team and they did good considering that this was their first time really playing in the rain, and we did not get the usual training before the season started because of the lockout. The lockout really denied our players a chance to train in August of 2011, and it showed Sunday. We are trying our best to recover, but a slow start hurt us! That game against the Titans had a playoff-type atmosphere and for a Youngry group of players, this situation brought a lot of tension, and emotion, and it’s hard to play with that much tension in a Big Game!

Is the season over? I am so glad you asked! The answer is definitely “No” because we really are a great team, and come Sunday our Buccaneers will be playing to have fun, without the tension. So we will relax and unleash the Gulf Coast Attack. Now we will be wishing some bad luck, but no major injuries, on some of the teams who are ahead of us in the Playoff Hunt. This is a strange season, and the teams that are ahead of us with a better record will make some mistakes! Just wait and see my fanatical Friends! Really it’s not as bad as it seems, because look at what is happening to the Jaguars in Jacksonville! Sorry team, no coach, new owners who might move the team to a new location—I can go on and on about their problems, Thank God, we are not the pitiful Jaguars.

The Bucified & OLE IS Alive Mission, will help Mr. Newhouse of Sligh Middle Magnet School get about 15 minutes of radio airwaves time next week,  This will give him a chance to reach 6 FM Radio Station,  this is a very large audience, and Mr. Newhouse asked,  if you can, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help Sligh Middle Magnet School revitalize its library collection for its students at http://www.titlewish.com/100794!

Regarding this week’s photo, My Fanatical Friends, this is the Bucified & OLE Is Alive mission in action, for the next generation. Whenever I can, I try and expose the good works of some of the students who are deemed Bucified Bert Dream Seekers working in the community to encourage good character. That is the case with the two students above. One of the student was Kenyatta Young, a good student and a star quarterback for Middleton High School. We were all at a commercial shoot, in between production of an 8 On Your Side promotional video shoot. The middle school student went up to the high school student to get an autograph. To see the expressions on both Dream Seeker Students’ faces was priceless, and Kenyatta could not wait for me to use the photo. I think this the right time, since the commercial is currently in rotation.

My Analytical Prognostication for Week 13 against the Panthers this Sunday at 1 pm. This is a game that has a lot of historic emphasis placed on Past Buccaneers players. If you remember my Fanatical Friends, this is when Raheem and Josh Freeman got their first victory. We call it, “The Throwback Game,” because this game has tons of sentimental value to it, as we recognize Jimmy Giles, a phenomenal tight end, that played for the Bucs in earlier years as one of the “Ring of Honors“. This combined with a strong desire to end the five-game losing streak will push the Buccaneers over the top, especially because we are at home. The players will be more relaxed and step up to the plate, because this is a DIVISION GAME and keep in mind, we only lost 1 division game all year! That new quarterback that they have ...  we don’t even care about Mr. Cam! So this Sunday, we have the answer to beat the Panthers!

My Prediction:Bucs 24, Panthers 17.

During a WFLA–TV “8 on Your Side” commercial shoot,
a Bucified Student gets Kenyatta Young’s autograph./

Let’s carve the turkey Thursday and stuff the Titans with a loss Sunday @ 1pm!

Years ago, I was a student in this classroom. Now I teach the Bucified Philosophy to the next generation!

I would like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. As we enjoy our families, football, great food and friends, let us take a moment to take a meal to those who are home alone, homeless and those less fortunate than we are. Sincerely Bucified & OLE Is Alive 2012

Now before we talk football, I want to apologize to my loyal Bucified fanatical friends, Buc-Man and Buc Manic, for failing to mention in my last blog they were in Green Bay to watch the Bucs play one of their best games this year!  I would also like to thank them for allowing me to share their photos with my loyal Bucified fanatical friends via my facebook page. I was caught up in the excitement of honoring my mother’s legacy and working with some of the schools who love the Bucified & OLE Is Alive mission. Even though the holidays can be a bit challenging trying to maintain all the tasks at hand, because the void of a Bucified Mother is critical, I will try not to let that mistake happen again.

I want to thank the Buccaneers for providing something to hold on to. If you listen to some of the so-called experts you would think that it’s over for the Bucs. However, our team gave us a legitimate reason to hope with the way they played the 2010 Super Bowl Champs. That kind of performance is the anchor that will keep our hope alive and pull us through the storms in this 2011 football season. My fanatical friends we must continue to believe in our Buccaneers. Throw out just two of those cheap penalties from the referees and we would have won that game,  hands down!  Keep in mind that this team, the “ Green Bay Packers “, had 6 losses last year before they went on to win the Super Bowl.. I said all that to say our season is not over. We only lost 6 games and the next 5 teams are not as good as Green Bay. Plus we sent a message to the league that we are not giving up and will be fighting all the way til the end. It starts this Sunday @ 1:00 p.m. with our showdown with the Tennessee Titans.

My fanatical friends,  The Sweat family, has been involved with the Bucified & OLE IS Alive program since its inception,  and I met his son so for 3 times, please read the email below…

As part of the Great American Teach-In,  I visited,  for the 2nd year in a row,  John M. Sexton Elementary School in St. Petersburg.  Bucified Bert shared his inspirational message with dozens of students in several classrooms, including students in the special needs classes and with the school’s 5000-Role Models club.  Sexton 5th grade student Cory Sweat served as his school’s official Ambassador for Bucified Bert’s visit.  Cory was eagerly anticipating the Bucified Message and even joined the school’s 5000-Role Models club to ensure he wouldn’t miss out on Bucified’s visit.  Cory is learning more and more about the Bucified philosophy, each time he crosses paths with Bucified Bert.  Cory, a straight-A student, came home after Bucified Bert’s visit and talked about Bucified with much enthusiasm.  He even asked me (his dad) if I knew that Bucified had his own web site.  When I replied “yes”, he asked if we could pay the web site a visit.  Cory has a thirst for more information about the Bucified ideology about life and he enjoys sharing the knowledge he has about the Bucified acronym with his friends to Be Understanding Citizens and Identify Friendly Individuals Each Day, Because a Stranger May Be Danger.,  I love

In the spirit of the holidays, let’s try and reach out to the crow eaters, the Nay-Sayers crew. This is a teachable moment. We want to show some love to Wonder Woman and her crew members even though we have some philosophical differences. We can agree to disagree. I want to thank my faithful blog readers. While visiting schools last week during the Great American Teach In, it felt great to have the students tell me how much they enjoy reading the weekly blogs.

Here is my analytical prognostication for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. The Bucs proved that we have every right to be optimistic, and we are in that contention.. We are really now in the playoffs mode. Fasten your seat belts, because the Buccaneers running back # 27 will have a great game, against Tennessee Titans, This is the team that cut Mr.Blunt, and us Bus Fans, are so glad they did…Plus our Buccaneers performed well against Green Bay. The experts thought we would be annihilated. This team proved that, we are ready to take names the rest of the season. The Titans are a very sorry team and their quarterback is hurt. So My Fanatical Friends we will carve the Turkey, Thursday on Thanksgiving Day,  and stuff the Titans in their house with another loss on Sunday We really are a great team and we will show up and show out, so Lets Go Bucs!

My Prediction Bucs 28   and Titans 14

Green Bay, All I Have to Say is that Tampa is a Better Bay!

This Blog Was edited and co-written by Mr. Newhouse of Sligh Middle Magnet School and the Friends of Bucified Bert

This week, My Fanatical Friends, was the Great American Teach-in Week, and I had a great time visiting with all of my little Bucified Dream Seeker Students. I have been visiting a lot of schools.

Lately I have been getting my weekly blogs edited by an educator that I enjoy working with by the name of Mr. Newhouse and the Friends of Bucified Bert at Sligh Middle Magnet School. This is a new school for him and now I want to help him with what he is doing to impact the students. I want him and his students to explain. Take over Mr. Newhouse …

***

Thank you, Mr. Bucified! I have been a school librarian and reading advocate for seven years, and it was during my time at Dowdell that I first encountered the man with the acronym! When I told him of our Race to $5,000 to revitalize the sad collection of books at my new media center at Sligh, he immediately volunteered this space for us. That is the man, Albert Owens, under the character of Bucified Bert. You might say he is a “Character with Character.”

I have quotes from friends old and new to share about the man, but first a little about this project. We have so many wonderful students here at Sligh who are desperately searching for the right book or other materials to read, but unfortunately our collection is old, and there are not many books to really quench that thirst. I have already spent my entire collection budget for the year and it bought us around 300-350 books. Meanwhile, we have 750 students fighting over these books!

Follett, one of the vendors librarians use to purchase books, has worked with us to setup a donation website where anyone, individual or business, can donate any amount of money from $10 to $10000 (dare I be a dreamseeker). All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of the money goes directly to buy books and related materials for the media center. As we enter the season of giving, and the end of the tax season for businesses, I implore you to help our students achieve their dreams. The Race to $5,000 is only the first step in our quest to connect every student to the perfect read and ignite their passion for reading.

The link http://www.titlewish.com/100794 will be active through December 30th, 2011, and we hope to bring it back in the new year! Please consider sharing this link with friends, families, businesses, acquaintances or anyone who would like to touch the lives of students.

As Sligh’s Principal Ms. Barbara Fillhart states, “Reading can open doors to the future.” Perhaps put another way by student Casey M., a two-time attendee of the Bucified Scholarship Bash (and potential future recipient?), “I feel when I read any book in general, I can be in a whole other world and explore different places that I have never been before.” Taylar J., another former Bash Attendee adds, “Books have helped me in so many ways. I read quite a lot so I learn and become smarter than other people who don’t read.” Mrs. Yolanda Reeves of Dowdell points out, “Reading helps me choose topics for discussion that will help my students make connections with the real world in terms of emotions, goal settings or self-reliance.” Finally, current Sligh student Sherri S. points out, “Reading lets me expand my vocabulary while I enjoy a vivid picture in a movie like sequence.”

As Hanim A. from Sligh points out, “Bucified’s message is one of accomplishing your dreams by recognizing and seeking out positive not negative role models.” He certainly is a positive role-model. Darrian M. from Dowdell points out, “Knowing Bucified Bert has changed my perspective on college by showing me that college can be fun while you learn.” Casey M. adds, “Now I feel like I want to work harder and make a difference in this world by going to college.” Kemi D. of Sligh points out, “He [Bucified] wanted to let kids know that you don’t have to be one of those people who just gives up because an obstacle comes up.”

The accolades on the man himself could fill a book, but I’ll close this segment with one from Coach Stacia Tatum of Sligh, “Bucified Bert offered fantastic energy, a heartfelt back story and gave students attainable goals for the future.” It is clear that Bucified and Sligh are at, in the words of Humphrey Bogart, “the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” We are all very happy to be there to see it grow into a very positive relationship. For more on the man himself click here for an article written by students at Dowdell a couple years ago. Please help us reach our dreams here at Sligh in the Race for $5000, and remember Bucified’s story is not just another Turkey Tale, but the story of a man, Albert Owens, Dream Maker for all the Tampa Dream Seekers! And now back to your regularly scheduled blog …

Hello again, My Fanatical Friends! That game against the Houston Texans this past Sunday really hurt, mainly because it was at home. I don’t want you to think that I am looking for a way to sugarcoat a horrible loss but I have to give you my sincere take. Thank you for allowing me the chance to explain.

Now we played a great team, I have to get that out first, but when you have a young team, you really need more time to develop the players. Keep that thought, because what you saw was our Buccaneers developing right before your eyes, and I know it hurt, but it will get better.

The referees blow a lot of calls against our Bucs, and at the game we saw a lot of missed calls against the Texans. This to me is very frustrating to a young player.

Look for a rebound Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Green Bay Packers, because we are mad, and we are going to have a very hard practice this week!

My prediction Bucs 31, Green Bay 28.

Mother & Daughter, happy participants of the Bucified & OLE IS Alive Mission…

I have to pay my respect to the Veterans, because Freedom is not Free.  Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women in the military, active & inactive!

My Fanatical Friends, our Buccaneers play in the best football division in the entire National Football League, so when we lost to the Saints last week that was not enough for us real Bucified Fans to blow a gasket, mainly because that same team beat up on the Indianapolis Colts 62 to just seven.  Our Bucs had a chance all the way until the end; every year for a long time now, we have beaten the Saints and they have beaten us. It is Hard to sweep any team in our division, because we are in a great division. No need to panic as we already have 4 wins, and our team has 8 more games left to play. Regardless of how it looks, we are just one game out of first place and we will recover from the loss last week, in great fashion Sunday. I expect the Bucs to do what we did the last time we played at Raymond James Stadium, and that is whoop another great team in the Houston Texans, but this time, with the addition of # 95.

I want to thank Mr Dayle Green for allowing me to be fanatical to be phenomenal in the community, because we are impacting the next generation and in a bigger way.. Earlier this year I teamed up with Mr.Greene because he works in the media and we both care,. He understood after a brief conversation that I am committed to honoring my mother’s legacy….

My Fanatical Friends you know my targeted audience are “The Students“, and in 2012 we are strategizing for an even bigger impact on the Bucified Dream Seeker Students’ lives,  because of our genuine supporters…Please read the Bucified Testimonial below from Mrs Carpenter who has been involved in the Bucified & Ole Is Alive Mission since its conception:, I was so excited when the mother and , text me and said that they seen the 2010 Dream Seeker OLE IS Alive Scholarship Recipient ( Vasty Paul, playing on the football field in Tallahassee Florida, and it made my day to see the photo above of two generations, happy to be apart of the mission, as you know My Fanatical Friends, That I am “Bucified & Ole Is Alive “for the next generation!!!

“Recently Bucified Bert sent me an email regarding our upcoming college campus tour to FAMU.  This was very interesting seeing that my daughter is currently a student at HCC majoring in Pharmacy and we were contemplating a FAMU campus visit next spring to speak with advisors regarding her educational path.  The timing for this tour was perfect.  I met with the contact person, Dayle Greene, who had high remarks about Bucified Bert, and we secured out seats for the trip.  During our visit, we were able to meet with several counselors, get valuable college information, speak with actual students from the Tampa area and FAMU gave us all a ticket to the game.  What an exciting time! I cannot stop talking about the experience.  “Thank you” to Bucified Bert for giving us this information.  This is just another example of the extraordinary ways that Bucified Bert continues to exemplify his values on our young students from elementary through college.  If you don’t know, get BUCIFIED: Be Understanding Citizens Identifying Friendly Individuals Each Day!“

Thank you Mr Dayle Green, and I am looking forward to setting up some more Bucified Students’ tours for 2012!,

Now My analytical prognostication on the game this Sunday at 1pm against the Houston Texans.. My Fanatical Friends I am so excited to play at home in The Raymond James, because this year we only lost one game there,  and I know the players can’t wait to get some tender loving care from the home crowd, cause there is no place like home, especially during this critical juncture of the 2011 football season.  We now have Albert Haynesworth,  # 95 and he will be a complete Beast come Sunday This will help our Youngry (Young and Hungry!) Bucs Players get prepared for the final half of the regular season,  and I will be there live at Ray Jay, making some Bucified Noise . I promise you will see better execution, from our YOUNGRY BUCCANEERS, because everyone in Tampa Bay are sensing the URGENCY, and I feel that we are over some of the bumps that hurt us the last 2 games, plus we made the right adjustments with #95 and he is so ready, he was the guy the Redskins gave a $100,000,000 million dollar contract, but they did not know how to use him, and now he is one of us, My Fanatical Friends, this is a HUGE Addition for us, to start the second half of the season, so get ready…Houston,  our backs are up against the wall, meet me on ”  Ray Jay’s Grass, to get Beat by Youngry Buccaneers Class, Bring It on, cause we are So Ready!!!

My Prediction Bucs 21   Texans 14

Saints, Get Ready For Another Whooping In Your House

Before I get started: Welcome, Sligh Middle School.  I get a chance to spread the Bucified Philosophy and Ideology about life thanks to Mr. Newhouse, a longtime supporter I care about so dearly. We share a common goal of making our community a better place to live. He knows that I work diligently to keep my mother’s legacy alive for the next generation. I want to thank him for being genuinely loyal to the Bucified & OLE Is Alive mission: I promise I will bring my “A” game when I visit Sligh Middle School in two weeks.

Welcome back, My Fanatical Friends, as hope you enjoyed the BYE week off. We really needed it after losing the second time in United Kingdom to the Chicago Bears..

I was shocked that I was wrong about my prediction, but that game really just got away. Please don’t let the so-called experts tell you differently.  All teams struggle from time to time; However, I think it was a great thing because our players will really be ready for the big show down in the south division game against the Saints!

And losing before the bye week meant that we started getting ready two weeks ago, plus the time fall back an hour, so with the time change we are so ready!

During the Buccaneers’ break, the Bucs had plenty of time to heal and strategize for the second half of the 2011 football season.  Although we did not play last week, the Bucs, with a win Sunday, can regain first place in the National Football Conference South Division because the Almighty New Orleans Saints could not beat a winless St. Louis Rams Woo Hoo!

And that’s not all, the Carolina Panthers took a loss as well. They fell victim to the winless Minnesota Vikings!  We are the Boss!  I feel that this is truly our year based on that alone. We are still undefeated in our division. No other team in the south division can speak these words. So, be proud and fly your Bucs flags very high!

I hope you made good use of the extra week off my fanatical friends. It’s time to get serious because we are making history, and everyone else will be history! Oh yeah, Congratulations to Buc Maniac!  He loves his St Louis Cardinals and they won the 2011 WORLD SERIES, against a team who ended in our Tampa Bay Rays 2011 season. And Buc Man, great Blogs! I love how you just be you and keeping it real! Ms. Focus Thank you for your genuine support, and thanks for taking me very seriously, when it comes to my Mother’s legacy, because I am very committed to the mission!

Some of my genuine supporters sent something very nice to a Bucified & OLE Is Alive Dream Seeker Student, 11-03-2011 and this is his reply to them..

“Thank you so much for the package that was sent all the way from Chesterfield, Va. I really do appreciate this so much its great to know that I have friends who care and knows how it is to live the life of a college student and hopefully me, you Bucified and Maurice and Daniel could meet up again in the future. Yes, all is well I just have to keep my head in the books for school and on the swivel while I’m on the field.

“Again thank you so much and I do appreciate this hope to keep in touch!!  God Bless,  Vasty Paul !! “

My Bucified Analytical Prognostication for the Bucs on week No. 9., because November and December are key months in the National Football league. The main reason is this is the time great teams start to make their run for the playoffs and we need to get ready. We are undefeated and looking good.

We will show the New Orleans Saints once again, that we are Bucified and powerful enough to sweep those chumps! This is a big game and we will make a statement come Sunday at 1:00pm in their Super Dome (the Saints House) as we rearrange their furniture like it’s our own!  My Fanatical we will be 5 and 3 in total control of the south division and I am so excited because this will be 3 wins in a row against the Saints.  Every year Coach Raheem finds a way to beat them at home, in that Dome This Sunday we are going to do it again!

My Prediction: Bucs 28, Saints 17

Bucs Will BEAT the Bears in UK, To Bring another Win to Tampa Bay!

Before I get started, I have to pay my respect to Dan Wheldon I had a chance to meet him, he was nice to my Dream Seeker students. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family Rest In Peace, until we meet again. Sincerely, Bucified & OLE IS Alive for the next generation!

What a great game last Sunday, my Fanatical Friends.  I’m talking about sitting on pins and needles! But the fact is, our Buccaneers are 4 and 2, and our expectations are being fulfilled. We are in week 7, and the Buccaneers have only lost two games! As James Brown would say, “Oooww, I FEEL GOOD”, and trust me, our future is so bright, we gotta wear our shades!

Now that we are in the driver seat of the South Division, you should be able to see why I compare this season to the 2003 season when we won the Super Bowl. What we are doing in this 2011 football season is making history again! Just like in 2003, I had to deal with “crow eaters” that did not like the fact that my Bucified Analytical Prognostication about the Buccaneers was so RIGHT!

For the couple of times when our team lost, I thank you for allowing me to explain because I knew we would lose a few this season, that is what happened the year we won the Super Bowl!  That is how you make history!!!  To Wonder Woman and her crew, the 2011 football season is already history. Oh yeah, once again this season another home game will not be BLACKED OUT!  In fact, it will be some time late in November before the “crow eaters” can talk about that problem.

My Dear Supportive Bucs Fans, I will help you get to the promised land!  I don`t use Tarot cards, not even astrology. I watched the team closely during the off season, and this is the Bucified approach!  I stood up against that football player named Eric “Pinkee” Floyd.  He is eating so much crow he can’t say anything on the Blog!

The “YOUNGRY” team is fired up enough to say, “This is our year!”  So let’s Go Bucs - 5 and 2- after we beat the Chicago Bears Sunday at 1 p.m. in the United Kingdom!!!

The acronym BUCIFIED (Be Understanding Citizens Identify Friendly Individuals Each Day…because a Stranger can be Danger) is the motto I personify each day of my life.  I created it to help the next generation of young Bucified followers navigate around some of the setbacks that can stop or delay a Dream Seekers ability to be all that they can be in life!  The philosophy is based on life lessons learned growing up combined with much knowledge gained working in the media. I use the BUCIFIED ideology every day on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and other online cyber space social sites.

Because of the many trolls, I do not condone cyber space bullying.  I like being a positive role model every where I go ... to the mall, on the computer, or to the neighborhood store!  All of this is for the students! I don’t get paid for it. I just feel a need to inspire, and I use a lot of my own money, and have been for a long time.

Now, I said all of that for one main reason: I am the moderator on the Bucified Bert’s Blog here on TBO, and my colleagues are always filtering and watching for Trolls!  Please think before you post, not only on this site, but all of the social sites you visit on the computer!

Bucified Bert Dream Seeker Students are the targeted audience for this Blog.  Because of them, I have placed a lot of emphasis on respectfully agreeing and disagreeing in a civilized fashion for years.  Plus, all postings are a permanent record for anyone to see. So let’s keep our posts Bucified clean, please! I have to be Bucified at the Bucs games, home and away, and I have respectful debates all the time, and it’s an art to “agreeing to disagree” in a Bucified civilized fashion!  Plus I know I can’t please all the people all the time. This is the Socratic (from Socrates’ Philosophy) way of disputing as studied by the young AVID students at Dowdell - agree to disagree! I am honored to help inspire their learning.  I try to bring positive energy into all of my situation, and if anyone have a problem logging on please shoot me an email, because we have been doing good on this Bucified site for a long time, and I am Bucified enough to deal with everyone.

Now, My Bucified Analytical Prognostication for the Tampa Bay Bucs vs the Chicago Bears in U.K.: This game in London is very important to us because we lost the last time we were in London back in 2009 against the New England Patriots. Also, it was in the U.K. when Josh Freeman got his first chance to play as a professional Quarter Back in the NFL. Unfortunately, we got beat badly! This is why he will have a great game, also we been there since Monday!  This is a lot of time to get acclimated to the foreign country, .plus, we do not want anymore let downs after that last great win, against the Saints!!  This Sunday live from the U.K., the Bucs will bring home another win back to TAMPA BAY!!!

My Prediction: Bucs 28,  Bears 14

Bucified and Dan Wheldon, Indy
race car driver. I had a chance to meet him;
rest in peace/ALBERT OWENS
