Charleston Southern replaces FIU

USF has replaced Florida International with Division I-AA Charleston Southern on its 2009 schedule.

The addition of Charleston Southern gives USF two I-AA opponents, meaning the Bulls will only be able to count either the Charleston Southern or Wofford game toward bowl eligibility. So if USF sweeps both programs, as expected, the Bulls must finish with seven overall wins to become bowl eligible.

USF had to find a replacement for FIU when the Golden Panthers cancelled the final game of a three-game series with the Bulls to play a home-and-home series with Rutgers.

USF’s home schedule this fall will consist of two I-AA programs, Miami, Louisville, Cincinnati and West Virginia.

Sept. 19 Charleston Southern
Sept. 26 at Florida State
