Pete Young, the athletic director at the Academy of the Holy Names the past six years, has stepped down in order to take an administrative position at Carrollwood Day School.
“I loved my time there, it was fantastic,” Young said of his career at the Academy, which features all girls teams for the upper grades. “I really feel like we have some awesome [athletic] programs in place and things overall are on a very solid foundation.”
Young said his new job at CDS is a newly-created administrative role at the school not dealing specifically with its athletic teams. At AHN last school year, the Jaguars won district titles in crew, cross country, golf, swimming and diving and tennis. During his tenure at AHN, Young also saw teams that won district and regional titles in track and basketball.
