X. Lee Most Overhyped FSU Recruit Ever?

Per tradition, when we don’t get any love here in our little corner of Blogdome for long stretches of time (i.e. no comments), we simply toss a football question out and see what happens.
So, here goes:
What must Florida State junior quarterback Xavier Lee do this year to avoid possibly being labeled one day as the most overhyped recruit in FSU history?
Let the comments begin …

He must first win the starting job from Drew Weatherford, and then lead FSU to at least be in contention for an ACC crown in 2007 or better. In 2008 we need to be back in the National Title hunt. X has plenty of time to leave a very positive mark at FSU.

2 words: Dan Kendra.

X won’t be able to surpass him as most over-hyped (hey, I liked DK ... there was just no way anyone could stand up to what they expected of him—how many other QBs can convert to Fullback?)

Hopefully X will get a chance to show us whether he can do what we all think ... Jimbo’s offenses have always done especially well with someone with his specific talents ... that said, those physical gifts aren’t all that is needed ... if he (or Drew or anyone else) doesn’t have the heart or the head that is needed, then they should be on the sideline.

Either way, Jimbo will build some sort of an offense with whatever pieces he has or can find ... That’s something that hasn’t happened at FSU since Mark Richt left.

Once Bowden really, really gives a chance to compete for the starting job he should be okay. If given the opportunity I think he will win the job. Hopefully, the new OC will have some influence.

i think if lee can make better descisions and not get flustered when under pressure he will be a good qb,but i see drew being the starter again.

Scott Carter is a gator homer…

Just kidding.

Lee has to put his money where is mouth is. He says all the right things, but it is time to see them on the field.

Either way Lee still has to compete with Yohance Buchanon, Fred Rouse, and IMO Lorenzo Booker for the dubous title of most overhyped prospect.

It’s difficult to evaluate a guy who hasn’t had any real coaching since he’s been there, no more than Drew. Neither have shown any real improvment. I am pulling for Lee to come out the starter in the fall.  For some reason I see a lot of Charlie Ward in the guy.  Go Noles!
