PINELLAS PARK - Tampa Bay Buccaneer David Boston was arrested Thursday night on charges of driving under the influence.

David Boston
Boston, 29, a wide receiver who lives in Cooper City, was found passed out at the wheel of a dark red Range Rover at 49th Street and Park Boulevard, Pinellas Park police Capt. Sanfield Forseth said. The vehicle was in a travel lane, and the engine was running.
“We’re assuming he stopped at the red light and passed out,” Forseth said. “He didn’t know where he was.”
At 8:30 p.m., Boston was taken to the Pinellas County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of driving under the influence.
A drunkenness-recognition expert was called to the scene and conducted a field sobriety test, then escorted Boston to jail. A so-called DRE exam goes beyond the field sobriety test and includes a check of a driver’s muscle tone and pupils, Forseth said.
Breath tests indicated there was no alcohol in Boston’s system, and the results of a urine test are pending, Forseth said.
Boston told a Pinellas Park police officer he had left Orlando’s Celebration area and was heading to Tampa International Airport, Forseth said.

Unlike others I’ll give him the benefit of doubt....A significant number of players are on some sort of medications including pain killers and prescribed medications have side effects and have the ability to effect different people in different ways.
Let’s wait and see.

I have seen David on several occasions and he is the kind of guy you want to root for however he just can’t seem to get things together. I wanted things to work out for him when he was in san Diego but he blew that attempt and it seems he has done it again. I hope he can get his life together because there is more then just football. Good luck David hope you come up clean.

They say there wasn’t any alcohol in his system, yet they charged him. Leaves little to the imagination, damn shame, I liked Boston and thought he may have found a home in Tampa. Damn son, I was rooting for you man. Dreaming the impossible dream that you’re clean.

If he was on any drugs, what a moron. He is so close to getting back in the league. With the season and cuts right around the corner why would you put yourself in any situation like this. No one knows all the facts, but if he did do drugs, I sure hope Gruden does not overlook it. Such a stupid move shouldn’t let him keep his roster spot. I am sick of hearing of all these players in trouble in Tampa. Under McKay/Dungy if you messed up off the field you were done, and thats how it should be.

This is obviously an attempt by the cops to sabotage the season. With Boston such an obvious and easy target, what better way to continue to try and undermine Saint Jon and Pope Allen.
Now the cops are on the bash Gruden bandwagon! Don’t they know EVERYTHING is Rich McKay’s fault?? There is to be NO negative commentary of the Golden Boy, and that means leaving his players alone, no matter how reckless they may act. He already has a free pass for life, so why can’t it apply to all his underlings? I just can’t handle the negativity!!

It sounds like wrong place wrong time with this one. I sure hope that he passes all the test. What are these guys thinking! Do you not have enough money to have someone drive you or to catch a cab. If this is true and he gets a DUI, it will be really stupid on his part because if your trying to make a team and you have been out of the league forever because of injury and stupid stuff good luck getting back in.

No excuse for falling asleep at a stop light or passing out; but having said that, I really believe this is racical profiling at its worst. There’s a lot of that - that goes on down in Pinellas county. Tampa people who use drugs go down there to buy. The test will either indict him or exonerate him. (BTW, I’m white.)
