ATLANTA - Shortstop Jason Bartlett has rejoined the Rays from the 15-day disabled list, says his rigtht hamstring feels good, and will start and bat eighth tonight.
The Rays come off a 10-4 victory against the Braves in a game that didn’t end until 1 a.m. Wednesday because of a rain-delayed start. Wade Davis (5-6, 4.91 ERA) faces Tommy Hanson (6-3, 3.69) in the middle game of the three-game series interleague series at Turner Field.
Although the weather forecast for tonight called for a 40 percent chance of rain, the sun is out and there are no rain clouds in sight about 45 minutes from game time.
Manager Joe Maddon said he’ll ease Bartlett back into playing every day, meaning we’ll still see more of the double-play tandem of Reid Brignac and Sean Rodriguez in the coming days. Maddon wouldn’t rule out the possibility of Ben Zobrist becoming the primary right fielder, and Bartlett, Brignac and Rodriguez sharing the middle infield work.
Eric Hinske, who played on the Rays’ American League championshp club in 2008, gets a start in left field for Atlanta. Hinske is batting .314 with four home runs and 24 RBIs.
