Though the USF football team’s season came to a disappointing end Thursday night, coach Skip Holtz and his staff managed a big win in recruiting on Friday.
Winter Park wide receiver Dvario Montgomery, rated a four-star recruit and regarded as one of the state’s top prospects, made a verbal pledge to the Bulls for the Class of 2012, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Montgomery also held offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, West Virginia and LSU.
Montgomery, who stands 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, had 43 receptions for 500 yards and five touchdowns this season. He is rated as the No. 44 overall recruit in Florida by the Sentinel.
